I am also OK with keeping him for now. If Byron insists on keeping this (non)offense going, we are all going to beg Swag (and Lou) to "let the threes fly".

I like Nick. I want him to do well. I hope with a more talented and focused team, he'll get back to the value we saw his first year with us.

I like him, I think he's better when he's not the main attention getter on the team. The past two years he had to be the on court entertainer and off court personality, this upcoming year, not so much.

With that said, I wouldn't mind trading him. He's clearly been bumping heads with Byron and he plays a position we are really thin at. If we can trade him while adding another SF I'd do it.

I just want him to shut the hell up and play basketball. If he put as much time into practicing his craft as he does worrying about his social life, he has the ability to be a badass. (As much as a bench player can be)

^So they had Swag, Derozan, Jack all on the same team against a bunch of amateurs? Why was the score even that close. How about splitting them up and have some actual competition.

I don't think that's a problem, because they won't play that much together.

There's a lot of assumptions made in that article, yikes. "Kobe doesn't like Nick's antics" is a definitive statement? Kobe worked hard with Nick when they were both healthy. Kobe enjoyed Nick. In fact Kobe started throwing up Nick's silly little finger things after threes sometimes. Kobe likes Nick's talent and he puts up with the antics as long as Nick is performing. The way it was worded in the article makes it sound like Kobe wants Nick gone and I'm not sure that's entirely true.

Of importance though is that Mitch met with Nick. I'm guessing Mitch told him: "look there's rumors we're trying to trade you and honestly there were some offers on the table, BUT we're happy you're here. What we NEED though is for you to buy in and play team basketball. You'll get your shots, you'll be yourself, but we need you to do other things besides score. Play defense, listen to Byron, rebound, pass the ball. Do all those things and you'll be a Laker all year long. If we start hearing you're not working out though and you're not responding to Byron and to the team, then we're going to probably look in other directions."

HaHa! Good imaginary dialog going there, real. You've got the corporate sports speak going. That would have been a good conversation for Nick to hear from Mitch if indeed it happened.
