Well crafted...not too overrun by unnecessary twists. Liked it. Solid cast too. Grade: B.

It's turned into a "what can we do thats bigger than the previous" action movie. The trailers looked so meh but since I've watched all the other ones and like these characters, I'm going to see it and probably enjoy it for what it is. Vroom vroom.

agreed. I usually love these type of sci-fi movies that make you think and have a plot twist but it was hard to make sense for me. Decent movie and was glad I saw it but won't look to own it.

I agree. In fact I rank it third worst of the whole series ahead of TD and 2F2F. But it's still a good grab some popcorn, leave your brain at the door and just enjoy. I do hope Desiel and Johnson get their beef straighten out if it isn't already. We got two more of these to go.

And of course I would enjoy FF8. Not saying the first few movies had a good plot or anything but the franchise has turned into a "leave your brain at home" action flick. And they know what they are and do it well too.

They have the luxury of 7 other movies to develop these characters that you just get attached to them easily.

Looks like they sort of closed the door on the Rock's character. Let's see how big the next movie can get.

Got a free rental for my birthday from Redbox, rented Arrival. Thought it was very good, if a little slow in some parts, but I enjoyed it in the end. Not a movie you need to really watch more than once though, it's built on the ending reveal sort of, so watching it over knowing the end I imagine could be boring.

Also getting a free preview weekend of HBO and Cinemax, so I'm recording a ton of movies I haven't gotten around to. First movie I watched was The Nice Guys. I loved it, thought it was really funny, clever, fun movie. Don't know why I took so long to getting around to seeing this one, but I think I'll be picking it up on blu-ray now.

Nice offshoot from the main films. Interesting plot line...depressing ending with the exception of the last scene. At least K-2 isn't as prissy as C-3PO. Grade: B.

It's funny to see someone just give a quick little opinion on a Star Wars movie like it's any other movie. Juxtapose that against the sweaty nerd festival going on in the Star Wars thread...it's tough to remember sometimes that most people aren't like us Star Wars weirdos. :D

I don't know. Star Wars fandom has hit mainstream pretty hard... Can't make a billion on just sweaty nerds.

It was really weird. :D My Star Wars nerdiness almost kicked in and had me like " what! That's all you devote to one of the best SW movies ever!".

FWIW, I own all seven episodes on blu-ray and will likely pick this one up when it goes on sale. I have the untampered laserdisc versions as well prior to Lucas doing his myriad edits offending the purists. I leave it to the "hard-cores" to dissect Rogue One's importance and relevance in the Star Wars canon. :)

It's a huge cottage industry... I know of people that have kept their Star Wars memorabilia and toys (figurines?). The Tie Fighters and the Millenium Falcon? One of these days, I will pick up a Death Star replica... :)

The first one was really surprisingly good. Hope this one is as good or better.

Had family (folks, aunts/uncles) yesterday over so... Dozed off a bit in some parts (blame a few Modelos). What I was majority awake for I liked even if I rarely choose dramas. Solid B.

My wife and daughter both cried. I thought it was really good, but not sure it deserved Best Picture nomination.

Couldn't imagine watching it again. 1 and done like the Clippers.
