I can't criticize Bynum in one thread, turn around in this thread and say I love this signing. This guy has been a goofball and I can't say I'm a fan. I know Lance is just as crazy but his game is quite different when he's on. With all that said, I've read/heard Beasley did some good for NY last year. He can shoot it, and he'll get the looks. But still a so-so signing to me.
I just don't understand why we feel the need to continue to bolster our 6'8"-6'9" arsenal. Right now we have 3 centers. One can't physically play more than 15 minutes a game. One is a rookie. The third is a project center that regressed last season from his rookie year.
This is such an insult to Odom. Beasley couldn't get on the floor for most of his career. Odom was a legit championship contributor and 6th man of the year. Oh yeah and... their games are NOTHING alike! Odom had and legit guard handles and vision, great rebounder, and could protect the paint on a Phil Jackson team (he demanded a lot from big men on defense). He could post up, face up, and when his jumper became consistent he won the 6MOTY. Not to mention Odom would be amazing in today's game. Beasley can shoot. Am I missing something? Where is that Remembering Lamar Odom thread when you need it?
https://www.sportsgrid.com/real-spo...likes-marijuana-is-arrested-for-it-yet-again/ he does look half high half the time in his photos Not sure we should expect much, but he has been solid for a couple of years
I think the FO is serious about the positionless ball approach. I can see McGee filling maybe 18 minutes, Zu-Moe filling 12-16 depending on the matchup, and the other 14-18 a game playing small ball with LBJ, Kuz or Beas in the so called 5 spot.
Dengdump for an expiring center coming in 3....2... Hahahah so true...plus KD and Boogie. I still don't understand why we didn't just throw money at Boogie. He woulda been perfect with this group and I'm sure Rondo would have shaved off some from his 9m per to get Boogie into the mix.
Beasley's nowhere near Odom, IMO. Sure both had superb talent that they somewhat squandered, but Odom got two rings when it came down to it and could really D it up when needed. Phil loved Odom and went to bat for him with Jerry Buss. Odom rightfully won a 6th man of the year award. Beasley's done nothing to remember as far as I can tell.
Younger version of Melo. Can shoot, can score, replacement for Randle, more or less. Interesting move by our team, not sure what to think of it yet, but he has been playing well lately. Quick edit: he is definitely capable of shooting 40% for three, which is exactly what we need. Overall, I think we are dfinitely going for that Smash Brothers mentality. The more I think about it, the more I like it.
