I don't see the connection between the two ... the college student is a good Lakers follow on Twitter btw .

As for the podcast , if it's related to the DAR "situation" , I'm simply going to copy and paste a sentence from the great abeer3 from another thread "been trying to trade for a long time, then cites reason that they were getting a good pg in the draft. what's a "long time"?

Nothing personal here , I just don't feel there is much insight on the podcast , anyone can agree or disagree

I was put off yesterday by the guy's bit too full of himself attitude and didn't read carefully. So went back and read it all and could see where you were coming from. Deleted my comment before seeing your reply. Sorry.

I agree. This was pretty specific, especially on the Russell front. They basically spelled out the fact that they benched him to test him and he failed. They talked to him numerous times at length and that the Nick Young thing still hung over the team. Those are all things that we wondered, but they were obviously spot on.

I was one of the people that HATED the timing of the trade, but it appears they did do their due diligence on him. It's also easier to swallow when you consider the clusterf--- the Cavs have become, pretty much guaranteeing Lebron is leaving (maybe not to the Lakers, but he's gone so we have a chance without Mozgov on the books), and the fact that we ended up getting a future Hall of Famer/Mount Rushmore type player in Kuzma with the pick.

Nothing to apologize for ... I agree I didn't like the "I do this , I'm that" part and "I know better" either .

I just thought he had some valid points

Bulls, 76ers and Hawks are the other teams listed with a lot of cap space. Philly and us have the promising young kids but who wants to play in Philly wth half injured guys.

Honestly, I think we only get PG-13. And that might be enough. I think most of us agree that Ball and Ingram (while still having growing pains this upcoming season) are probably going to be legit studs. So let's see how year 3 of Randle goes. What about Kuzma's rookie campaign? Maybe Nance starts hitting 3's at a 35-38% clip and we have a great stretch 4. There are a lot of things that could happen this season that would make PG-13 coming in 2018 all we would need to be ready to contend for a title in 4 years.

I've been agreeing with this stance for some time. We may find the sum of the parts like Pope, Our sweet shooting center, player growth, new talent, and adding a legit star may be all we need. I'm not sold that Lebron is the best thing for this situation long term if Golden State's window is a bit longer.

I would like just PG too but if Lebron wants to come here, you can bet Magic and Rob will make it happen.

Yep. Ingram and Ball won't be in their prime window until James is well out of his. We're talking at least 5 years before they're close to what they can/will become. I just don't know if LBJ and PG-13 will be enough to knock off GS with how young Ingram and Ball will still be. Even if our wildest dreams come true about the two of them, the career arcs of Ball, Ingram and Lebron won't match up ideally to compete with the Warriors.

chicago and philly already have the space, though. we still need to clear some. still, i like our chances competing against them for a package max deal situation.

Yup. I know it's frustrating and you can think I'm an a** for not going any deeper into, I get it. I am, after all, just an anonymous dude on the internet who will never be held to account for anything I say on here. But just trust me, if you knew what I knew about Russell, you a) would not be sorry to see him go and b) you would not be questioning Magic and Rob's decision to trade him, even if it meant getting a poor haul in return. He was never going to be the leader we hoped he would, and he was only going to become an even bigger cancer in the locker room. I wish we could have gotten more for him, but apparently we couldn't.

I'm saying 4 years to contend for a ring. I expect winning records and playoff runs a couple years from now. But even with LBJ, i honestly dont think we can contend with the Warriors until they hit the wrong side of 30 or they lose one of the 4.
