LOL I was one of five camera guys a couple years ago at the Marriott across from Staples, at Herbalife's worldwide awards convention. If Rob fails as Lakers GM and is burnt out on being an agent he would fit right in as an Herbalife executive. He's got the frame and he's got that sleek shark appearance with the great smile and good looks.

Hmmmm ..... anyone else think Magic looks like he's been working on his own BMI index? Walking the talk? He's looked "chubbier".

That actually impresses me with Magic. They all are indeed.... seemingly committed to excellence and personal improvement. For Magic to come in now and be a hard a** about BMI and being in shape while being overweight himself would really seem hypocritical to the players. But how impressive if Magic gets himself at his age back down to more in shape weight and conditioning. I like it. I've fully started drinking the purple Kool Aid.

get those fatty enablers out of there, let's get Magic's personal trainer. Ingram looks like he can lose a few pounds.

Sucks that people are losing jobs but its expected with a change of personnel at the top.

According to this article it was Tim's decision to leave due to finally for him too much time away from his family. Not forced out having to resign or being fired behind closed doors. Best of luck to him. He might have still been here, but that is not clear of course the way they've been cleaning house. Or .... is this the usual reason given to not embarrass the employee whom they respected?

^I never doubted Magic's competitiveness. The guy is competitive and is going to leave no stone unturned. Pelinka also is probably hell bent to prove himself considering he has never been a GM before.

My problem with Magic was that he doesn't have an idea what he got himself into. Nobody doubted Jordans competitiveness or Isian Thomas' competitiveness. Its just not that easy to succeed in this role in this league. It requires a lot of luck and the right moment.

So far so good. But I have no doubt that Magic will be all over the place until the Lakers are competitive again.

Magic is so measured, and gives off an air of confidence that he has a plan and knows what it will take to get there. I love that

The difference between Magic and say a Jordan, or Isiah, or even Kobe, is the type of competitiveness that they possessed.

I would say Magic is a bit more open minded and candid about his competitiveness as we saw with him and Larry all those years. Whereas a Michael or Isiah were more calculated and closed off because of just how competitive they were, they probably felt that they wanted to prove themselves that they could be "the one" making decisions.

We see it with how much Magic interacts with Rob and how much of a presence he's made to the organization. He's just not trying to do this himself, he's trying to get help from everyone and get everyone's gears going as he did on the court.

This is the most soft spoken interview I've seen him do maybe ever.

BOOM!! What a great current insight that interview is into the presence and intelligence of the man who Magic is at this point in his life. A transcendent leader and winner in so many arenas. Who knew Jeanie Buss played baseball. Low screamer out of the yard deep centerfield bases loaded after being behind the whole game. Kirk Gibsonish. To go through what this franchise has gone through while giving family fair shot at father's wishes to run the team following his tremendous legacy. The decision to hire Magic.
