Why was there a need for all the "adviser" s***? Why just not do that, what transpired today, and be done with it?

I am absolutely positive now that Jeannie is a moron.

I wonder if the billionaire co owners of the Lakers (AEG, the surgeon) have any say in all of this, as well as Spectrum Sportsnet. It's possible they could have put some pressure on Jeanie to do something.

Honestly none of us are privy to how any of that works. All I know is something had to be done, now something was done.

Let's hope for the best in the meantime.

I don't get why John Black had to go, he must've disagreed with Jeanie on releasing the news of this firing.

Get ready for quotes like "We want to be good at basketball again" "To accomplish this we need to win more games and also lose less game" "I plan on putting together a team that can dribble, pass, shoot, and defend"

That's got to be it. There were probably factions in the organization of people who were in Jim/Mitch's camp and people in Jeanie's. I bet John fell into the wrong camp.

Man what a dumpster fire we have on our hands! Jim needed to go it was about time. Mitch I hate to see him go but if the organization is cleaning house he had to be apart of it unfortunately. John Black?? I just don't understand the timing it's mind boggling. New regime, new practice facility, a new branding of lakers basketball??

Kobe's agent... Has a lot of connections. I doubt he'd be the GM or anything, but interesting name to throw out.

Arn Tellem represents two interesting clients... Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis. Just sayin'.

Galvanizing moment for Lakers fans - shock and terror. Please don't mortgage this team's future for a whim.

While inevitable, impeccable timing once again Jeanie. Two freaking days before the trade deadline, we have no GM and whoever is hired "soon" will need time to be caught up. I better not see "DAR and Ingram traded for Melo".

I'm wondering if the sudden firing is BECAUSE the two of them were about to do something crazy and they had to stop it. Everyone is assuming it was to do something crazy. Maybe is was to prevent it? I still think this was handled with all the grace of a hippo on ice skates.

why is anyone surprised by this?

this is why magic was brought in. it was only a matter of time. i'm still not sold on him 100% but at this point anything is better than what we currently had

sucks seeing mitch go after all he's done but at this point, a massive shake-up is what this franchise needs. the last few years have been hell. as for jim, it's about damn time. hope this means ryan west gets the GM gig, i think he's ready for it
