I don't know about that. The Bulls winning 6 in 8 years in a modern NBA was pretty astounding. I will say that last years playoff run was the most epic run I have ever seen in any sport...period...end of discussion. It was so epic, if the Kings failed to make the playoffs this season (which I don't see happening), I couldn't even say I'd be that disappointed. Their 2014 Cup run bought like 5 years of unquestioned goodwill from me.

At least these dark days as Laker fans are nullified for those of us who are Kings fans as well.

Its not just Quick. It's like the Kings were still healing for the first half of the season. It seems like so many shots are getting blocked now compared to earlier. It's like they finally feel good enough to start sacrificing their bodies again.

I thought of the bulls run but I don't even put that over the Kobe/Shaq 3-peat to be honest. The level of comp from round 1 to the Finals was just too crazy and much harder than any run the Bulls made. Now, take that to the Kings 3 year run. 2012 they were the 8th seed, beat the #1, #2, #3 seeds on road to the Finals. Beat all 3 of them losing a total of 2 games. Then wins the first cup in franchise history. How do they follow that? The next year they lose in WCF to the eventual champs. How do they follow that? Oh just come back from 0-3 down, win 3 game 7's on the road, when more OT games than my body wants to remember, played their biggest rivals in the toughest division etc etc etc etc... I know you know all that but I honestly haven't seen a run like that by any team.

I get goose bumps just thinking about that ride. On top of all that I think Hockey playoffs are the best playoffs for excitement. Even my wife yells during hockey playoffs. lol.

One thing Sutter brought up about the second of half of seasons and why the King's seem to "turn it up" around this time: Around this time, refs start calling fewer penalties (as with most sports) and it becomes more "playoff style" which favors the Kings as well. It also effects teams like the Ducks and Sharks who seem to depend on those to get goals. The King's PK has been phenomenal since the ASB, and it's partly because of this.

Big win for the boys. 7 in a row! #BELIEVE (this is my superstitious hashtag)

Gave up WAYYY too many penalties against the best power play team in the league, however, excellent penalty killing in hindsight. Quickie has been on fire lately.

Yeah. That was not their best game. Fortunately the defense is locking down and Quickie is Quickie again. I was starting to worry about 10 games ago. I've seen dominant goaltenders just lose it overnight.

23 games left with a tight race. Gonna be a wild finish. Not worried though. Though I'm okay with the two rookie defenseman McNabb and Bain, would prefer another vet to pair with martinez.

Yeah. The loss of Voynov hurt us more than we want to admit. We really only have 3 quality defensmen now. It would be fantastic if Voynov and Pearson arrive in time for the playoffs. Although, Voynov will probably be in jail.

All it took was an 8 game win streak to sound the alarm? ;)

Over/Under 3 years until the Lakers have an 8 game win streak?

Doughty, Greene, Muzzin. Martinez has been oft injured this year, but I think he'll be fine. I will give Regher a pass, he's been playing solid lately in getting the puck out of the zone and staying out of the box.

I'm hoping we can steal a Top 4 Dman to pair with one of those 3. Having a deep 8 rotating defense will definitely help. I have my eye on Sekera and Yandle. Not sure if the Kings will go after Wisniewski, but he'd be there as well. Blue Jackets have handed us two champions in Carter and Gaborik. ;)

Under for sure. We'll have a random awesome win streak like Houston did back in 09 or 10 or whatever it was.

And like that, they get Sekera. Lombardi is a genius.

Well, it's nice the Sekera is an expiring. He's a top 4 blue liner that will fill that gap Slava left. If Voynov is acquitted, fine, we got 5 solid dmen. Then, next year, there won't be much push to resign Sekera unless he wants to stay here for cheap. Otherwise, Voynov will be back.

    Doughty-Muzzin
    Greene-Sekera
    Regher-Martinez

Balance. If things get tight, and Sutter keeps rotations to two pairings, you can move Sekera up with Doughty.

I don't know what the hell happened here...

I think they got a little too complacent, especially the defense. Too many giveaways and penalties as of late. Need to start cleaning it up.

Liking Sekera, but Regher has been AWFUL. Need Martinez back stat. The rookies are starting to break down too.

Holy hell we won a shootout game. Critical 2 points to stick with Calgary right now.

Need to stop blowing leads. Regher and Muzzin have been garbage.

I'm not sure we should be looking at Calgary at this point. Them and the Wild both seem to be playing way too well right now. Heck, the Wild may catch Chicago. The 'Nucks and Jets are looking like the teams we may need to catch. That Ducks game we had in the bag along with the Jets loss may end up being the spot we look back on if we miss the playoffs.
