Every time this thread gets bumped...I cringe and ask myself "what did he do now?"

Yep ain't that the truth. Have to give him props for staying over there with the boys though. The original reported plan was he had a couple of brothers that were going to stay with them. For sure he didn't trust how they were going to be handled by the coach if he wasn't around constantly to badger him.

So are there any "transcendent" point guards in this year's draft?

    *eye roll*

Lonzo is an RFA first of all so it's not Lavar's choice.

Second of all, shut up, guy.

I had this thought like 3 months ago when LaVar was bumping his gums about all 3 of them being on the Lakers that just like he did with UCLA he would try to pull some s*** like this. Jack***!!

When that time comes...we'll see if Lonzo has the backbone to start thinking for himself and make his own decisions.

He has given ZERO indication of that so far. LaVar is a total tool to run his kids' lives for them like they are mere pawns in his monetary and fame ambitions.

    Future conversation:

Lonzo: But Dad....I really like playing for the Lak.....(Interrupted)
Lavar: Boy! I brought you into this world, and I’ll take you out! I made you, and don’t you ever forget that!

Can’t wait for the Lonzo “diss my Dad” soundtrack

Not sure what you mean with that. But I'm not laughing at this. The way the family just goes along with every seat of the pants decision ..... ripping the kids from their respective schools and education with UCLA having to honor both of their scholarships .... over the 2 reasons he pulled each of them was seat of the pants and not in their best interest. This is calculated crap additionally. I don't feel it's a stretch to say it's almost cult like with this family. Mom just sits back too I guess and lets him control everything.

We’ll find out if Lonzo Ball has balls way before then, and if he’ll stand up to dear old Dad.

Curious this comes on the heels of a great Laker run without Lonzo. If Lonzo cares more about his career and winning, then he’ll let his two younger brothers earn their owns stripes regardless of what pops is saying.

“But Lavar, I thought you already spoke it into existence?”

I guess he’s already getting the sense the Lakers don’t really care what he thinks and won’t help him in his quest to get all 3 boys on the Lakers. It was stupid to broadcast that anyways. Now he’s backtracking YEARS before it can even likely happen?

    Shaddup already

I don’t know. I feel like Lonzo would have spoken up by now even understanding the father son dynamic at play here.

Lavar doesn’t know when to shut up and I’m not sure what it would take to put a muzzle on him.

Meh, Lonzo is 20. He has time to become his own man. He may disagree with him now and keep it to himself.

But at some point, his contributions to Dad’s business will outweigh the downside of dealing with him and the potential lost revenue by having him in the picture.

    He’ll figure it out.
