Thats a complete assumption on your part. The Lakers worked out some random kid out of China whose name we cant pronounce, does that harm the franchise too?

Nobody is even saying give the kid a contract, it's a workout. It's really not a big deal and means literally nothing in the grand scheme of this team. There's zero harm in it at all.

It's a complete assumption that WOJ talked to a GM and said LiAngeleo is far from an NBA prospect or that other sources have talked to scouts and they have said the same about LiAngelo?

The reason for harm (which yes, it is an assumption on my part and that's what an opinion is and this is a forum for opinions) in working out a kid who is on a tv show who is very publicly known and not regarded as NBA material and has a father that has very publicly threatened us by saying he will force Lonzo to sign elsewhere when the time comes (which severely contrasts him from no-name kids being tried out), I have made clear. He is not the same as a kid in China. Lavar threatened us. You don't seem to be willing to acknowledge that at all so I'm not going to waste any further time discussing it with you.

I agree. No one knows kid from China. People know about Lavar and the cleptomaniac son, so it's just different.

Acknowledge what? The whims of a loud mouth father? He can't do **** about where Lonzo is. It's not worth acknowledging. Lonzo is ours for at least 7 years.

There is literally no downside to working the kid out. At all. It's a workout. They could work you out too. It's called due diligence.

If it benefits the Lakers practically to do due diligence or in the eyes of fans, then they will.

If they determine it’s not worth their time or there is no fan lash back, then they don’t. They are too busy to play games.

I hope the kid works out for them. It'd be funny to watch some reactions.

I would give him a tryout but I'm afraid he'll steal some trophies

LaVar will also demand high school seniors for him to scrimmage against in the workout ....

That's like asking the mentally r******* kid in class to sing on the stage in front of everyone for the sole purpose of making fun of him. It's cruel and unnecessary. He already has to deal with Lavar and his mistakes being broadcast across the world, playing in Siberia, driving a car he clearly can't afford on his own, and the mockery of owning his own basketball shoe when he's nobody.

Why would you want to put him through anything more before he goes through the process of earning the opportunity? I wouldn't do it.

That is not at all the correct comparison.

This is more like a kid from a small school getting a chance to workout for a pro team. In fact, that's exactly what it's like.

You all hate Lavar Ball so much you're willing to bury his kids for it.

Just an observation, but you’ve been doing a lot of telling people their OPINIONS are wrong lately. ( And I might even often agree with your takes - besides LLLLL of course)

They are opinions. They can’t be wrong.

If I think LiAngelo is the r******* kid or a waste of time to work out, then it’s what I think. You don’t have to agree, and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean you’re wrong. None of us know what the Lakers will do, as it’s ALL SPECULATION.

If you think LiAngelo is a dummy, that's fine, that's an opinion.

But the comparison of what it means if we bring him in to work out doesn't make sense. I'm not teasing a mentally handicapped person by bringing him in for a workout. I'm giving the kid a chance to show something. A chance that he'll likely not make it? Yes! Of course, but it's just a workout. There's really no harm in it. The argument before was that bringing him in was somehow a move that weakens the Lakers and that doesn't make any sense. There's no harm at all in giving the kid a workout. S*** you can give him a private workout. Teams give all kinds of players workouts, guys that have very little chance of making the pros. What harm is really caused by giving the kid a shot?

I think that part was explained already. If it’s someone’s opinion, because LaVar Ball made his public demand, and his son is clearly unqualified to be a pro, it could appear that a franchise like the Lakers is caving to the demands of a loudmouth parent with no clue about reality. That’s just not a good look.

It’s my opinion on the matter that there does exist some harm in how that could look, but the team will evaluate that topic appropriately, and take the appropriate action for them and in the eyes of the public.

I’m sure they have super smart public relations people that have their hand on the pulse of how they’re handling of this will be publicly perceived.

Billion dollar enterprises don’t bow down to clowns and their outrageous public demands. They need to not even acknowledge them.

    My opinion of course.

Yeah your opinion is pretty obviously biased by the father who you put far too much stock in.

But sure, your opinion is whatever you want. It's wrong, but that's fine. :)

You can do someone a favor and it's still no harm no foul Sirron.

There's no right and wrong but I'm sorry, you have made up your mind he's trash when all were saying is a workout doesn't hurt cause what if he emerges some and is good enough for the g-league. We don't even need to talk about NBA roster cause it seems that's where people's minds are at who are against a measly workout.

Anyways if anything could always wait till he goes undrafted and bring him in after for a look.

NBA tryouts are for the NBA. Since he has no shot right now, he can tryout for the G League.

Some people you absolutely do favors for and give them every benefit of the doubt possible.

However, Lavar is not that guy. Despite direct requests from management, he proved his own agenda and self seeking ways overruled any respect he felt for Laker execs or coaches.

We all enjoyed his trip to Lithuania, and it’s too bad he didn’t stay.

We could be doing lonzo a solid as well .but you're right, and like I said, a g league tryout assuming he goes undrafted wouldn't hurt .

If anything Lakers g league system seems like is contributing already. So it's no slap in the face and a opportunity for anyone.
