If he was consistent, he would be a hall of gamer.

In today’s NBA, he would be a franchise player even with the inconsistency. He’s essentially Ben Simmons with better offense (perimeter shooting, mid range, post up game)

Does he have any legs left? How old is he now. Cheap big on the bench with once mad skills. What an add if he could take it physically. No idea.

I'm sure he has little to nothing left in the tank, but I hope he has fun on the Big 3 circuit or whatever it's called.

for a league trying to be more "professional" that sure came across as completely unnecessary and insulting

but I guess if your message is don't come if you aren't in shape, then maybe they are accomplishing what they are after

But to basically bad mouth 4 former NBA players seems like bad form.

He wasn't in high enough level basketball shape. That I can believe.

Also wondering if there may be liability issues with sufficiently out of shape players.

    From Lamar Odom:

“No way God took my brother this early,” the retired athlete wrote. “I know I been through my own stuff in life with using drugs and not being good to myself. When I went through that Coma situation if God would have came to me and said we would take me and spare Kobe I would have rather that happened. In honor of my brother I’m up at 4am tomorrow to get to the gym!”

Just hope Lamar keeps up on the good path and doesn't spiral out of this tragedy as well.

This is really stupid for some one who recovered from a coma. I'm shocked any gaming commission would allow Odom to do this.

if it's just an "exhibition" then they don't get involved or have a say "I think"

But for a gentle soul at heart, this strikes me as a guy who is hurting looking for ways to check out. Hope I'm wrong.

He needs help... And these boxing exhibitions that are designed to milk money from the public to help YouTube personalities or struggling athletes is disgusting. Whoever is allowing this stuff to happen needs to be put in a boxing ring with Tyson Fury and let's see how much they enjoy 'boxing.'

Boxing isn't something you "play" at. The consequences of getting brutally knocked out are real unless you are facing someone equally unskilled as you are.

Athletes are in a very difficult position of being out of their "prime" physically while just coming into their own mentally. It's a cruel joke. They dedicate their life to their craft, and in their 30's most are left for dead after they are no longer of use for owners to make money. Bad business decisions leave them without a secure financial future. Cultural norms have them wasting massive amounts of money on frivolous things. Without a solid family backing, they are all easy prey for distractions.

Odom has had a tough and blessed life, but he's a tortured soul. He will be most at peace when he draws his last breath and is no longer in pain. I hope he can get people around him that love him and care for him. This life can really suck sometimes. And addiction is a b****.
