It really is. I bet lots of people have tried helping him. Likeable dude. He just can't seem to shake this lifestyle. And if vegas didn't
set him straight, what will?

Yeah man,

whether its Meth, Xanies, Coke, Alcohol, its very difficult.

I essentially lost 2 childhood friends consecutively the past two years because of substance abuse. One was like a brother to me and our other friends (we all been friends since we were 13, we're in our late 20s or early 30s now) It was particularly hard when I lost him.


I just got another friend off Meth, he was heading towards the same path as one of my friends and he had a family business to run and there isn't a way you can run a business smoking sh*t every morning and evening. I'm glad hes off it.



Its crazy man, its an addiction you cant control what others do no matter how hard you try, no matter if they know its bad and they know they're messing up because of it.


But you have to put an effort. As my friends and I are older, its easy to say "I'm tired after work", "I don't have enough free time", "I just can't deal with it", "He's going to do what he wants to do". But regardless of that just keep on asking them to hang out, grab something to eat, have a beer, etc, etc, etc. And depending on the individual keep solidifying its not good, its effecting his every day life, his work. But without as so much judging him.

I don't know its just from my experience and I'm not saying it works or anything but its hard to get someone off it and its to the point where sometimes you have to yell at dude.

 

Sound like a great group of lifetime friends.

Scary business in that banks can't handle their money because of Federal laws. Not sure if that's the case in every state. All that cash they have to bury or hide and deal in. Some of those growers in central CA lost not only their crops but their buried cash in the big fires. And Lamar such a recognizable target.

 

One of the rules of owning a business is to do something you are an expert in.

It’s sad to simultaneously have such a charmed and tortured life. He’s seems like a good dude, so it’s easy to feel for him. But it’s not normal to have a gun pulled on you anywhere. Some of it is being a target as a celebrity and some of it is personal choices. I hope he finds peace.
