Not a bad idea and good to have him start there to understand everything and see if he has what it takes, can be effective.

Man, just looking back at LO and how ahead of the game he was, but so underutilized because the game wasn't quite there yet.

With his rebounding, passing, handling ability at his size, a decent jumper, and motivated defense, he would be the PERFECT 4/5 on any team today.

Hmm... what do you think he means? What is his worry? IMO, it's not just generalized anxiety or worry about superficial stuff, like finances, his career, his image, etc. It's a deep childhood wound type of worry. My guess is a fear of abandonment, losing those closest to him.

Death of people close to him. I remember him saying, "everyone close to me dies." So what's the response? Push everyone close to you away and then drown in substance abuse to deaden the pain. This article didn't even touch on the death of his nephew and then, while leaving the funeral, the limo driver hitting a motorcyclist and killing a pedestrian. He's had a rough life and the majority of it isn't self-inflicted, despite being a drug addict.

One of my favorite Lakers ever...and I really hope he can join Luke's coaching staff. He's yet another example for ultimate douchebaggery off the court, but he bled purple and gold and you can't help cheering for him and his personal well being.

Will be nice to see him retire as a Laker. Always a fan favorite. They won't retire his jersey or give him a statue (obviously) but it would be nice to see a Odom appreciation night to honor him and his contributions.

I'll always root for him and his battle with addiction. Hope he finds peace and happiness.

According to the report, the former Los Angeles Laker was in a VIP booth when it occurred. TMZ noted the person who recorded video of the incident said Odom had been drinking prior to collapsing.

It is notable Odom was apparently drinking, considering he "has a serious history with substance abuse" and "almost died from a drug overdose at a brothel in 2015," per TMZ.

Every time I see this thread bumped up I get a pain in my gut and think "this is it."

I guess he can do what he wants, but based on his history, is a club the place for him?
