Man, we knew this was coming, we could see it for months if not years. Still hoped it wouldn't though. Damn, I hope he makes it through this and this is the event that forces him to fix his life and gets him help from those around him in denial or enabling him. So much tragedy in his life, it doesn't deserve to end tragically for him too.

I don't know what to say about this... Loved the cat with the P&G and as a person off the floor. Cheered for him more than the others. He was mostly sincere, down to earth and affable. After all that ended, he's been circling the drain since.

Odom is not helping himself at all. You can only wish he would as all of the fan-base has but I see him having a tragic end. Where is his family in all of this? [sigh...]

Damn, hope LO makes it but I don't think any of us are surprised. He was on this downward spiral for a while now.

Man, poor LO. Everyone saw this coming from miles away, but couldn't the people closer to him have done something to help him? Sad.

Just terrible to hear. He deserves to finally have some peace. I just hope like so many have said he can make it out of this and start to turn the corner. Most of his family and close friends have died and he's dealt with an incredible amount of tragedy in his life its unreal.

Prayer are with you LO, you always be one of many Lakers fans favorite players to have put on the Purple & Gold.

Sending my best wishes and hope he gets better. No one should go through all the bad that he's had... I hope he has someone close that can pull him out of this.

So sad to see. Been hoping he would be able to turn his life around, the last few years you could see something like this was coming. Hopefully he gets another chance.

bummer. big LO fan here. I think that seeing what's happened over the last few years has made me marvel at how he was able to keep it together for his years in Miami and la, given he had trouble in college and when he first entered the league. whatever was working then, he needs to get back to it.

Terrible news, while frustrating at times I was a huge LO fan and by all accounts he seemed like a really good dude. It seems like ever since we traded him he was never the same. Really hope he fights through this.

As we see this news hit more major or mainstream media, it kinda disturbs me that TMZ broke this. What, do they assign a guy to follow Odom wherever he goes and bother him? Probably just waiting for this story to happen.

Tragedy follows him. His best friend died of an overdose in June, that probably pushed him over the edge if he wasn't already over it.
