Can we see that format with Brook Lopez in the last two years.

Nice to see him trending upwards so nicely.

According to this, we are taking him back to rookie year production. When you look at his consistency over the years, this appears to be a coach that doesn't know how to use his big man.

You have one All Star level player, and you can't figure out how to get the most out of him?

    Really?

Wasn't expecting us to sit in the top 5 for long, but wasn't expecting it this soon. December we play a lot of better teams that can score, we play Houston and Golden State twice, I think we'll drop some more.

And our offense has been the bottom all season and doesn't look to be improving at all. We're going to take a dive in the standings.

that doesn't seem to match any of his years

His first year he averaged 13 points, so that made me uncertain of where this came from. Those numbers all seem too high, but maybe I'm looking at things wrong?

I gave you month by month for the last two years. I thought that was what you asked for, but maybe I misread.

Sorry about that. It was really tongue in cheek because his numbers are awful.

Much prefer to look at numbers trending up.

Update on Ingram. Not the most efficient shooting this month, but the scoring is climbing.

Yeah, would like to see the efficiency pick-up. I think that is a correlation between two things; our offensive rating is 28th out of 30th; we are running a very bad half-court offense. Listening and watching game breakdowns on our offense; we are running Horns Sets, some high pick in roll, and we ISO.

When Ingram ISO's, the spacing isn't the greatest, he's forcing it, and he hasn't developed a counter move or not recognizing when to pass it out just yet. The counter move and recognition of identifying when to pass should come w/repetition, and the spacing should come w/shooters and we can put the correct personnel around him so there is not much congestion in the paint when he is slashing to the rim.

Luke should also utilize in more off-ball action, screens/curls cuts, etc. Don't make Ingram so ball-centric; give him easy opportunities where he can just rise up and shoot or finish at the rim. That would help w/his efficiency, too.

    And make your FT's!!

Here's another way to look at Ingram.
TS% by month of career / and then cumulative (estimated TS%):
    1. 50.6% / 50.6
    2. 45.0% / 47.8
    3. 39.9% / 45.2
    4. 47.5% / 45.8
    5. 50.6% / 46.7
    6. 56.0% / 48.3
    7. 46.6% / 48.0
    8. 50.3% / 48.3
    9. 53.7% / 48.9
    10. 48.0% / 48.8

Good: it's been a MOSTLY uphill trajectory, as he has increased his overall TS% in five of the past seven months of his career. After falling below 48 four times last season, he hasn't fallen below that at all this season. And after hitting 50+ in three of seven months last year, he's already done it twice in three.

I think that if you combine the almost linear progression in scoring with the bumpy but gradual increase in shooting efficiency, it paints a favorable picture of his ability as a scorer going forward.

Here's a stat I totally just made up: Scoring Punch. It's TS% times points per game.

Ingram's by month vs. KD's by month:
    3.4 / 6.8 (-3.4)
    3.7 / 10.6 (-6.9)
    3.2 / 9.7 (-6.5)
    4.2 / 9.2 (-5.0)
    4.7 / 8.7 (-4.0)
    6.5 / 13.2 (-6.7)
    6.1 / 12.8 (-6.7)
---End year 1. This is why fans were frustrated with Ingram. He essentially ended his first season where Durant started.

    7.0 / 4.8 (+2.2)
    7.8 / 12.5 (-4.7)
    9.3 / 14.3 (-5.0)
--Where we are today. The gap has narrowed, but it's still evident and sizable. I think Ingram is the one young Laker no one should be concerned with. He's clearly growing his game in nearly every aspect, and the progress is consistent.

Here's Kobe's age 20-season, first three months, for comparison:
    14.4
    10.1
    9.4
    (11.1 in month 4)

Glad the numbers support the eye test and these ARE our best players. I wonder what the numbers tell when you plug JC into either guard spots.
