I think at the least we agree on a trade until then, but not have it become official until its all said and done. Obviously that leaves it open to backing out, but that wouldn’t look good to other teams wanting to deal with them in the future.

I like this scenario and it's plausible. Even the Bulls 7th pick can come into play.

I still would do anything I could to keep BI, but Griff really liked BI when he was still a TV guy. He's probably going to want BI at all costs now that Zion is already in their bag.

I love BI as well, but I think Kuz just has that IT factor about him, his ability to score and shoot from outside will fit better with LeBron/AD IMO.

eh, as i said in the other thread, i could see us keeping it. that canvassing may turn up a bunch of role player types. you don't want to be the team that gave up lillard for gerald wallace.

Who are you talking about who’s a legit 3 point threat? RJ Barrett?! He’s a horrible shooter and it definitely is a weak point he’ll need to work on.

When Kawhi gets here he’ll have the 2 spot on lockdown.

I’ve heard Darius Garland compared to Lillard and he’s a Klutch guy too.

I agree that unless #4 is the deal breaker in us possibly getting AD in a trade that makes sense, we might as well keep it. Trust the scouting department and try to get someone who can immediately contribute on a valuable rookie contract with a chance at star potential. Keep the max slot open.

I agree. If IT factor means he’s like Isaiah Thomas that he chucks and plays no defense I can get behind that comparison...

I don't think we move the #4 pick (or parlay it) for anything other than an AD package.

As for the cap space, you can canvas the Pels thinking in who they want using our Klutch connection and then once free agency wraps, make the trade for AD.

For example, the Bonga trade with Philly was made before draft night, but was not officially made till after the FA moratorium lifted.

Agree to the trade terms in principle...have Kawhi/Ky verbally commit... moratorium lifts and our max player signs followed by the trade going through.

Plus we wouldn't do Kuz like that, would we???

...he bumped us up 7 spots in the draft and then we would still ship him out... That's savage AF...

    But backstabbing!

I would agree completely if trading for AD pre-draft or draft day wouldn’t take away our max free agent slot. But I do still agree mostly, because I will take AD on this team for sure, over maybe landing one of the free agent. LeBron, AD, and smart free agents still gets us to the playoffs.

Anyone believe it's possible to keep 2 of the 3 core guys?

I'd offer Ingram, Hart and the #4 pick for AD since Griffin and Bron are tight, I'm hoping that's the trade he accepts.

Kawhi asks Toronto to trade him to the Lakers, and Lakers give up future first round picks for him.

    Zo
    Kawhi
    Kuz
    LeBron
    AD

    Per Trudell:

So lets extract this little bit right here...

Rob: The front office will be very methodical in our research and will look at everything. And I think around the draft we’ll get clarity, and then of course we’re excited about July 1 and the flexibility we have there. And the promise of free agency this year.

    Wait, what promise?
