Good idea creating this thread so we have all the videos and can discuss them all in one place.

I've seen some of these break down videos...... they are well done.

I think the biggest thing the Lakers will have to get better at relative to last year is actually setting these variations of screens......they have to get big and make contact or many of these sets get neutralized easily. The Lakers were absolutely horrible at setting screens last year....Scott tried running variations last year but it always looked discombobulated because the basic foundation to setting screens was not there...... these are the types of basketball foundations Phil Jackson would talk about that are missing from todays game.

I've seen most of the young guys in the facility already, so I'm hoping the learning starts early...the sooner the better.

Not understanding why it was so hard for them last year (Julius) to set the picks closer to create the more likely contact. Or is part of the fault as well the ball handlers not utilizing the picks on their defenders properly. Well basketball 101 basics should be much easier to learn from this staff, as opposed to getting instruction from the seats under their butts last couple of years.

It will take patience. I think we'll be league average offensively, though. Defensively? That will be the challenge.

Most had only one year of college, and then a pro coach that was happy to let them learn on the bench without instruction.

Looks like we have a large staff gifted and dedicated to teaching. I think it will be a process. I wouldn't be surprised if we have 50% more wins in the second half.

We had a ton of young guys who all want their offense. That's A tough combo to overcome. If you want good screens, you either have to find guys who just love screening or you have to show guys they'll have plays and passes coming their way. That's Byron's failure.

Yes, those two would NOT "have it covered". I was looking to add Yi though with his MMA skills and his "Protect the Younglings" gif, but where is it in your multiple libraries? Could not find.

On the main page right now of www.lakergifs.com

After it moves off the last 10 "picture" posts, there is a search function that works pretty well too. Just the smaller emoticons are on the smiley page.

Thanks. I edited and dropped in our new Enforcer for our defensive juggler's knot squad but I don't know now. He's so big and the graphics layout of my post is not as good now because of that. Of course that's what's most important. [IMG] Oh well .... Yi can take care of the "Dirty Ds" of the league when they eff with us. Sneaky martial arts stuff too like they do while he's playing that stellar defense. :Crazyartest:

Well Randle set some pretty good screens for Kobe in that last game, although those "screens" were more like something an offensive tackle would do in a football game. If he can set screens like that without the football element this coming season that would be great.
