Out of respect to Eric, I won't post his entire article, but here's some notable quotes.
Eric also touches on what I've been saying about Ayers and how his presence could definitely tie into Kawhi's camp.

Does that executive want to make a high stakes bet we make it to the playoffs and end up with a higher record than their team?

There is zero chance that we don't make the playoffs. We would have made it last year, if it wasn't for those unfortunate injuries. With Bron and one extra year of experience we can be a threat in the playoffs.

Add guys like Rondo and Stephenson who take it to another level during playoffs, you add another dimension to this team.

The young kids will falter, and that's okay, it'll be a learning experience.

But you can still roll out with Bron, Rondo, Lance, McGee and KCP and still be a halfway decent.

I'll believe it when I see it. As of right now there is only one death lineup as far as I'm concerned and that's in GS.

If you can't beat em, it ain't no death lineup.

We would've made the playoffs last year if healthy, then again looking around the league at some of the moves, its not surprising an executive is that dumb.

Hmm. I'm dubious about the "Death Lineup" given the roster we have. We do have balance and good interchangeability/versatility with Rondo/Lonzo, KCP/Hart, Ingram/Stephenson/Svi, Lebron/Kuz. What we are lacking is a big who has the quicks and the ability to switch 1-5. I felt like we had that guy with Randle and I was excited to see how it would work out with him in the small ball 5 role for us with Lebron. However, things didn't go as I had hoped, Randle and his agent wanted too much and we got more guard/wing depth instead. Basically resigning KCP for one year was the cost of doing biz with Lebron and that was essentially Randle's $. I thought he was going to be off the books for sure. It's ok, I'm over it, but I wish we could have kept Randle instead.

We'll be making the playoffs, folks. I don't have any doubt about that. We'll have to see how much the lack of a good center hinders us though. As down as I was on Lopez at times last year, I think he could have helped us if he had stayed for the room exception. Ah well. I don't have much faith in McGee/Zu/Mo combo.

One executive thinks we won't even make the playoffs? Is that you Buford?

A Death Lineup of Lonzo, Hart or KCP, Ingram, Kuzma, and LeBron sounds wildly fun to me.

I'm surprised this is getting tepid support from ya'll.

When articles mention Executives you guys realize that doesn't mean its only GM's right... Could be anyone in front office positions of teams.

With all that said it wouldn't be shocking if it was Presti or Buford.

Not a fan of that lineup at all. First of all, Bron is amazing as an offensive presence. Last year, Cleveland was 1st in offensive efficiency with Bron on the court. They were 25th overall when he was off it.

On the flip side, they were dead last in defensive efficiency when he was on, but 10th overall when Bron was off.

With Bron signed, we ain't playing for anything short of into late May and early June...it would be fun to see it in spot minutes during the regular season, but it's not sustainable for a guy that's never been a defensive presence and had never played significant minutes as a small ball center....oh and dude is 34 and coming off 15 seasons with 8 straight finals and logging ridiculous minutes. I'm not willingly throwing a whole lot on Bron's shoulders till we get another star in here.

It's kinda absurd to tell you the truth, especially when defense is one of the main factors in the postseason. I would rather go with a Rondo/KCP/Stevenson/Bron/McGee defensive lineup till our youngns prove otherwise.

Death lineup? Well yeah...but it would be our death.

Easy fix: play Ingram at "Center" and LeBron at "Power Forward". Everything is being switched anyway. That defense isn't built on rim protection, it's built on swarming and movement. Yes I know Ingram is too light, but he's also the longest kid we've got who can affect shots inside a la Durant in Golden State right now.

Nobody is saying that lineup needs to play extended minutes, but in stretches that lineup is all firepower.

This team has obvious flaws, but a lineup with LeBron leading our young kids... isn't that sort of the point?

When did LeBron become a senior citizen? :D

I don't get you guys. If I wanted to search a couple months ago, there was a lot of excitement about a Lonzo/Kawhi or George/Ingram/Kuzma/LeBron Death lineup. Now we have LeBron in hand and it's a bad idea? Or does the Kawhi/George of it all change things that dramatically?

Obviously we're not deploying that lineup when the opposing Center is DeAndre Jordan or Clint Capela. But if the other team wants to go small and put a small guy at Center like the Warriors do, why wouldn't we be able to follow suit?

4yr investment says no...And dude has an option to make it 3. Let's not give him a legit reason to use it.

BI and Zo need to pack on more weight and prove durability. Kuz needs to prove he ain't just about them buckets. Hart is probably the only one that can cover for Bron on defense right now and of course he's the oldest of our young stable.

Developing our youth isn't the end game. It's a byproduct to the endgame.... And that being titles yo!

The dubs led the league in block shots with McGee leading the squad in block percentage. Dae-dae has made all defensive teams and had been DPoY so he can play that role for the dubs. Bron can't imho.

I think Moe will be an instrumental small ball 5 for us. I think he'll be able contribute solid minutes as a rookie with his energy, hustle, and ability to spread the floor, granted he stays healthy.

    Rondo(Zo) - Hart (Svi) - BI - Bron - Wagner.

That's going to be a very well balanced lineup. I see guys like Stephenson and KCP more as plug in guys who can provide a spark.

Randle was perfect for the 5 spot in that situation. Unfortunately the minutes were not going to be there for him and it was the end of his time in L.A.

I agree lakerfan2 that Moe ought to be good at times, even as a rookie, playing the small ball 5. If he's not gone for Leonard.
