All the underestimation of this group since Lebron signing is fan-freak-en-tastic as far as I am concerned. Absolutely love it. Nothing will get our guys to bond better than the disrespect of the media. And their leader, the best player in the league, will use that. This also goes for the vets who are being massively maligned by the media as well as our youth who are being treated as peripheral players that don't even matter and can't handle the big-boy's game that is the deep playoffs and finals. We're not even near training camp and these guys have been taking a verbal beating. A few are probably thinking: "Dang, I've had less attention than Lebron's shorts".

There's gonna be incentive every game to go out and send a message.

Yeah it is. It's like reinforcements and air support just arrived. Love that we are being disrespected and all of the squad is going to be on a mission. This guy will show how that energy needs to be directed.

Without consulting my wife: LeBron is genetically gifted. He can't outrun Father Time, but he can keep him at bay for a while longer than most.

As for using, even though he's a Laker now, I still believe there's a strong chance he has used in the past. Maybe not as a tool for building muscle, but as a recovery tool to stay healthy while training vigorously.

I think he has 2 elite years left, but I'm not a physician. How many do you think?

Hard to say, but 2 years sounds right. It could be longer than that too if he's lucky.

Someone to think about in regards to LeBron James's health is Karl Malone. In about two seasons (plus deep playoff runs hopefully), LeBron will have played about all the minutes that Karl Malone played in his career along with the playoffs. Karl played until he was 40 years old, but started at 22 years old. Like LeBron, Karl really didn't miss much time until his final year in the league with the Lakers. LeBron started at 18 years old and in two years will approach 36 years old with a similar minutes total.

Someone else to keep in mind is Kareem who played roughly 4 more seasons worth of minutes than LeBron has right now (including Playoffs). I could see LeBron going at this ultimate, high level for the next 2 years or so and then gradually declining from there even if he's still a very good playing in 2021-2022.

I'd say he's already been very lucky. Hope it holds true to form for all of these 4 years

Imagine if Lebron had joined Kobe instead of Miami. Like in an alternative universe where in 2011 he gets sign and traded to the Lakers for the same amount of firsts he went to Miami for and Bynum.

It’s not unreasonable to think we’d have a line up one year of:

    Fisher/Blake
    Kobe/Ray Allen
    Lebron/Artest
    Battier/Odom
    Gasol/Chris Anderson

First of all Kobe probably doesn’t break down and we might be talking about Kobe being a 8, 9 or 10 time champion as the best or second best player on a team - and Lebron as a 4, 5 or 6 time champion.

No doubt in my mind Kobe and Lebron win in 2011 against the Mavs. 2012 and 2013 Lebron and Kobe get it done just like Lebron and Wade did.

I think if Kobe doesn’t break down, he continues to play at the level he did in 2012/2013 for 2 more years. So I think they have a chance for 2014 and 2015 as well because all of a sudden Kawhi Leonard can’t guard Kobe and Lebron (Wade’s knees weren’t right this year) and GSW aren’t versing Lebron without Kyrie, but with Kobe.

If 2016 repeats with GSW losing Green and Curry being hobbled while Lebron goes super nova, their partnership ends with a last championship.

Kobe could potentially go out as champion in:

    - 2000
    - 2001
    - 2002
    - 2009
    - 2010
    - 2011
    - 2012
    - 2013
    - 2015
    - 2016

Lebron gets an additional ring in 2011 and 2015 and is a 5 time champion.

He joined his best friend in wade in Miami. Kobe, although he respected the mamba, he wasn't close to him.

LeBron is a facilitator. If he can’t give more than 2 years of top play I’m not worried. He can morph into a different role. And the youngsters will be lions by then anyway.

As I recall they were close, just not bussom buddies like Wade. A little more older brother instead of best friends.
