my parents lived in houston for nearly a decade. they really liked it. i found it utterly charmless, but i'm not into strip clubs.

no, they always touted statistics like "houston has the second-most theater seats of any city in the U.S." and my dad knew the precise number of restaurants. they really liked the food and culture available to rich old white folks.

I've actually heard it's a good city in a lot of ways for regular people. The Atlanta of the West.

Most people "in the know" are jumping on this train now.

    Something leaked from somewhere.

Like you mentioned from the beginning - it's simply not viable. You have to gut the team and jump through too many hoops to do it. They have to keep CP3 and Capella. It's going take up their resources.

Seems that way. Here’s longer audio, he goes on to talk about Philly for like a minute, and LA for like 20 seconds

I agree with Windbag about Houston not being feasible and Philly not being a good fit. I also agree with him that Lebron and his family would be glad to be here in LA and that it would be good for the league and ratings. I am not convinced we are the third best team if we add him and PG13 who wasn't mentioned at all. I think we leap frog Houston in that scenario (not in regular season record but in the playoffs). He said it would be great if he could bring Durant here. I agree with that but also that it isn't likely to happen. Sounds like LA is still the best option though unless he thinks Lebron should stay in Cleveland which I certainly don't think he's going to or should do.

Agreed with everything you said LJ. I'm glad to see Windy is no longer pretending like LA has no advantages here. I'm glad he's no longer pretending Cleveland is a really viable option either. Sure it'd be great if we got Durant, but LeBron and Paul George on this team? That to me is the 2nd/3rd best team in the league immediately with a very high ceiling.

If we add LBJ, PG and keep Randle and the rest of our Main Kids I think we put a whup a** on Houston next year even in the regular season.

Sure Woj. Sure. Kobe is bad, the Lakers are bad, you wish it was different. Oh well.

in fairness, my parents weren't particularly rich or old when they lived there--they just did rich old people stuff.

also: abeerstrodamus still decrees houston! windhorst knows nothing! no really, he's a moron. the feasibility angle has been debunked over and over (i think espn even published a piece outlining the exact stuff i've posted many times). the conclusion i've seen from people whose opinion i trust is that if lebron wants to go there, houston can and will make it happen.

the recent "news" (that lebron hates houston and his kid is enrolled in school in la) is certainly putting chinks in abeerstrodamus's armor (do prophets have armor? this one does!), but citing possibility...i'm not hearing it.

honestly, it's the "protesting too much" from members of the media that has me thinking this is more possible. some folks seem to be pleading for him not to go to la, ignoring that going to houston is worse for the league.
