This is certainly worthy of a thread 6 games into Summer League.

I think it is. I think Kuzma's a steal. Screw that I think he's lottery quality. Someone else already pointed out eye test says he looks better than Tatum has so far. Whoa .... Tatum is only 6 games into Summer League as well. What else we going to have to get excited about once SL ends in 2 more days? Long hot summer.

Let's be real... If we took him 12th overall in the draft wed still be happy AF right now.

Might be Russell at this moment and it also depends on what your team needs are. You got to remember Kuzma is cheap AF for the next 4 years... Russell will be wanting an extension starting towards the end of next year. For this team were definitely better off with Lopez and Kuzma after signing KCP. Also if Russell was here were worse on D especially when you take out the Lopez and Kuzma additions.

You can tell there is a certain kind of mindset and level of work ethic they wanted to add to this team. Kuzma seems to check off every box for us.

Oh man... I didn't expect the poll to be this slanted.

    I actually voted for Russell.

In a vacuum, Russell is one of the more talented players we've had and had an effortless way about his jumper. The percentage might not have been great and he may have been streaky, but he was completely easy getting that shot off. I can't imagine how great he'd look next to a guy with Lonzo's passing ability looking for him over and over and over again. I mean seriously Russell might break the single-game three point record and Lonzo might have 6 assists just on quick looks to Russell in semi-transition. I think they'd have looked very good together, especially offensively.

Accounting for attitude and demeanor and all that changes the argument a bit, but who knows? Maybe Russell changes his approach once he's played with Lonzo a bit. It's possible.

And don't get me wrong, Kuzma has made a believer out of me. I like that kid a ton. I just think a Ball/Russell backcourt would we extremely dangerous.

They play different positions so it's hard to say. Kuzma definitely fits better with Lonzo though.

I'd like someone more athletic and/or taller than Russell at the 2. And a better defender.

Someone like Paul George would be ideal

D'Angelo Russell has the skill set to be a star. The organ above the neck is what will make him or break him. Lakers seemed to have seen something they didn't like. The way the Lakers have operated in just a short few months, I will lean on them for making the right decision. The Nets is the perfect opportunity for D'Angelo to be successful. If he ends up playing the way he played the last few years there, then we know he was not worthy of the 2nd pick and the Lakers made the right choice.

It seems incredibly hard to me for a player like DAR who's 6'5" only to not jump on his shots and have to rely on that lightning fast, quick draw type of release ..... to be able to deliver that kind of "ON" with his shooting consistently. Game to game, and then his energy level seems tied to it when he's not hitting.

I was stoked when we drafted Russell. He did not bring the type of game or mentality I was expecting however. Kuz seems to being it every game. From what I have seen so far I voted Kuz.

Kuzma's had a nice summer league but I was really hoping the Russell trade was the first step in getting George to us this season and am still disappointed that Pritchard wouldn't deal with us.

Who's better going forward? I have no idea but given that he's on our team we need it to be Kuzma.

I'm hoping the forum gets to a point where it can just enjoy Ball, Kuzma, etc without looking in the rear view mirror at DAR.

Can we just enjoy our players now without having to take shots at DAR?

Pointless excercise. Too early to tell with Kuzma. Good point by Elgin about moving on. The move was made and you're either on board with it or not, but if you're not, please contain your whining unless you can show a better solution for ditching Moz or Deng's contract which HAD to be done. And don't even start with other combinations of Randel, Clarkson, Nance etc etc you insult our FO by impying that they didn't go out and get the best deal they could. I understand some not liking that we got rid of DAR (I'm not one) but don't play like you're a better pitchman than Pelinka and could have secured a better deal. We ditched Moz and got Lopez, a more than usable character guy we might be able to resign into an important role after all is said and done.

It was a very good point to have been brought up, not pointless at all. Some unneeded salty flavor though.
