Kuz needs to start. He's not in the same rhythm as he is off the bench, and I like the chemistry he has with Zo. It's like it brings out a different player.

Also Luke recently issued a challenge to Ky and here's to hoping that #SOD starts bringing it on D...Cause that's what he hung his hat on in college.

All it tells me is that Puke doesn’t use him in correct lineups.

There were so many occasions were he was tasked with guarding much much bigger and stronger opponents....

    Ugh.

Until I see him start again, fire Luke Walton!

It's cause we keep doing this switch everything garbage defense. Sure it works against smaller lineups, but we keep getting killed when we leave Brolo guarding CP3 and Kuz guarding Cousins in the paint. Might as well play zone.

switching is causing alot of these mismatches almost every time an opponents runs a screen...i think last yr they didnt switch but once an opponent got into the paint all hell broke lose n they got whatever shots they wanted, wide open

We sometimes even switch when we don't have to, I get switching as a last resort but when your opponent doesn't even set a solid screen, why are you bailing them out by switching. GSW gets away with it when they have 4 or 5 guys all the same size, you don't switch and force BroLo to guard the point guard and Ball guard the center.

Had to drag this thread back from page two?? What is the world coming to?

Kyle had a really rough game. 19 minutes, 1-7 from the field, 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

He's been a little quiet since going back to the bench. If only we could sit Lopez, and start Kuz next to Nance.

Perhaps that's the plan. To tame him. It appears Luke is firm in believing Kyle's offense doesn't compensate what he lacks in defense.

But that's not even the issue. Whenever he's in the court, they hardly even run a play that involves him. He's being reduced to a lowly 5th choice in offense.

Dude has really settled down a bit after getting rookie of the month for November. Hope he bounces back and be helpful in the tough month.

Terrible game last night. Worst he's played this season. Hopefully it was just an anomaly. I hope Walton hasn't broken this kid. The fact that he had back spasms worries me - Walton over played the heck out of him while Nance was out while simultaneously short changing Randle for no good reason at all. It irritated me at the time and I said so here. If he's got lingering damage from that I won't be forgiving Luke any time soon. Meanwhile, he's been treating Kuzma like his whipping boy for some time now and that also bugs me. I'm hoping he bounces back against the Hornets.

I don't care if Kuz isn't playing well...he needs to be in our crunchtime lineup. We were lucky that we didn't lose that game...as a randle/nance frontcourt is disastrous on both ends. We need to have Kuz in there along with Randle, Ball, Ingram and KCP. Even if his shot is not falling, he's fearless and WILL take a good shot with the game on the line. Opponents will also respect Kuz outside shot more so there will be open lanes for Lonzo and Ingram to drive and kick.
