Sure sounds like a confident GM. Had to look down, when mentioning how the wanted a better relationship with Kawhi. Couldn't wait to move to the next question, considering that he's the priority for your organization.

Their in shock that any player would want to leave San Antonio; R.C., Pop, and the Spurs organization were probably as shocked as anybody at the notion that Leonard requested to leave for a bigger market.

However, they need to get over it, and start dealing with the reality: Leonard doesn't want to be there; so do the right thing and trade him. He isn't changing his mind; and his camp are going to keep pushing and pushing...I think he's gone before the beginning of the season, IMO. Kawhi will win this out...where he's going? IDK, but he sure doesn't want to be there...

We should be in no hurry to make a trade selling the farm. Worst case scenario, we strike out, we’re still a 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs with the kids. Magic and Rob has put us in a great position leverage wise for the next two summers.

I just had a funny thought.

There’s been constant mentions that Kawhi’s mouthpiece and the facilitator of the trade demands is his uncle.

Wouldn’t it be funny if we found out Kawhi and Lonzo are like 2nd Cousins, and the uncle is LaVar?

Riverside isn’t that far from Chino Hills lol.

Then there would be twice as much LaVar around for us all.

    That IS funny.

guessing the trade offers are unimpressive so far.

i could actually see him staying there long-term if he's not moved soon. it would have to be a the super max, though. if the super max is truly off the table, they need to move him ASAP. you don't want to go into the season with things being like this.

This is a good point. Unless Kawhi stays, they just lost out on their best offers.

I want to see the guy play and if he is the same player. Catastrophe to give up BI or Kuz or even Randle for him and he's no longer the same player. We could have a season as others have said to watch our own talent another year to see who we best should move in a package for him if he's serious about walking. Or decide NO at that time .... our guys are getting just too good and he's not the same guy.

I could see them being like fudge it, well wait till someones desperate meter goes as high as possible until the trade deadline if we have to.

Spurs need some time to chill and vent...im sure they're still pretty heated knowing the circumstances.

I think the Spurs GM is just trying to play it cool and make it sound like they are not desperate to trade Kawhi. If he sounded desperate, you know everyone is going to lowball th Spurs so he’s just putting up a front like he doesn’t really want to trade Kawhi to get the best deal possible.

This will probably go on all summer if they want to play that game, but the moment training camp starts is when the offers will begin to become worse and worse. The final deadline would be the trade deadline in February, where I don’t even think Boston or Philly would dare give any valuable assets for 3 months of Kawhi.

John Ireland said the clippers tried to trade the #12, #13, and Tobias Harris for Kawhi.

Yup Paul George was traded first week into free agency, July 6.

The game the Spurs are playing only hurts themselves. They could have got draft picks they could have used right away last night but lost that opportunity.

Now they face the risk of The season starting with Kawhi on the roster. It would be awkward for the rest of the team and if Kawhi shows his face at any games, you know the Spurs fans will shower him with boos every single time.

Spurs overplayed their hand and the Lakers leaked the story about the Spurs "shutting the door" on us to put pressure on Kawhi's camp to repeat the mantra "Lakers or BUST". Kawhi needs to stand strong here and continue that stance until Spurs deal him to the Lakers.

We will play nice as well...we don't want to lose out on the chance of LeBron and PG13 so while waiting is good...we can't wait TOO long...we need to act fast and so does San Antonio..let's hope we get something done and we get to keep 2 of the 3 (Kuzma, Ingram, Ball) in any kawhi deal!

I'm no fan of Karate kick Bowen, but he's not wrong...

If the shoe was on the other foot, we'd be saying the same things.

But f*** 'em. This is a Laker world again. It's coming.
