He was pretty awful though, one of those games where length really bothered him.

Not very good touch by the basket, double clutching against taller players so they could swat him

Just some overall wth moments with him tonight. Just when you think he might be turning a corner, you're reminded why he won't ever become a max player.

Eh. It is what it is. There were plenty of players not playing great and nobody else has the kind of leash he has.

I don't think singling out Randle makes much sense when Ingram shot 22%, Lonzo shot 30%, and Kuzma and KCP shot just as poorly as Julius (33%). Randle was still hustling out there and grabbed 8 boards in 18 minutes. Yes he blew a few assignments, but he also did some good out there. He continues to be this board's scapegoat, which irritates me to no end. Nice to see him make a three.

I think the most frustrating part of Julius is that he rarely learns from a mistake. With the newer class of young guys, you can see the wheels turning and you can see the adjustments being made in the game. With Julius he continues to try to dropstep to his left hand, get doubled, and either fumble the ball out of bounds or throw up a bad shot or travel. It's frustrating to no end.

But yes, I don't put any particular struggle in this game really on him. I still would like to see him play more.

I'm glad we didn't give him a lucrative extension. It was important to see what he could do this year.

Yes, it's early, but it seems he's not the long term solution at that position as a starter, and thus, not worth the money he'll be after, and may be offered.

I'm convinced his minutes directly relates to Jule's trade value. Just think about how efficient Jules and JC have been and both of them are on the block (rumored to be on the table for George and their contracts directly come in the way of 2018 free agency). I love how their trade value continues to climb as we continue to play competitively and due to their limited minutes, it seems like it won't be too much of a hit on our defensive philosophy this season (once/if they're gone).

If you consider what Woj proposed as the Lakers trying to get a 1st rounder for Jules along with Magic going on Mike & Mike this morning to mention only Zo, Kuz, KCP, Brook and BI (in that order), seems like Jules is a dead man walking. I just hope LA is classy and finds him a good home, like they did DLo/Moz and Lou (btw, it'll be easy to find JC a home, cause there's females everywhere).

Julius thread after a "bad" game....

Ingram thread after a truly terrible game.....

It must kill some of you to see Julius have a good game. I don't know what Randle did to some of you guys. Ohh and this....

Bucks game was a travesty for BI, but tonight out of 3 players that played 30+ minutes, BI was the only guy as a net positive. Dude played good help D and initiated the offense (with Zo on the bench) as Clarkson played more of a SG/scorer role. The ball did stick a bit too much and of course it was another atrocious night offensively, but dude did other things on the court to be an overall net positive, so for this game at least, he wasn't all bad.

The trend continues though...anytime BI is a net positive the Lakers are more times than naught ending up with a W.

As for Randle, I don't think its hate for Randle. Its just the timing of it all. Again, it could have been any other of our young players that happen to be in a contract year before a big FA summer class...unfortunately for Randle its him and that obviously will cloud his future with us as we gear up to go big game hunting. IMHO he's not going to stick with the team, so I hope he continues to help us while he's here and we can get some type of value for him, rather than have him walk away for nothing.

Um, no, it's hate. There are about four of us who routinely stick up for him here and that's it. Pretty much the rest of the board just does not like him at all and say so. It's nothing new, it's been that way for a couple years now.

I for one wasn’t intending to single him out if it came across that way. I only noticed that he struggled to score inside multiple times over the Suns length and that he was having a little trouble guarding Bender. It was one poor game though, no big deal, before tonight he’d been incredibly consistent for quite a while. I probably shouldn’t have said he was “awful”, more like not great. Ingram, on the other hand, was awful.

I may not post much, but I'm definitely in Randle's camp. He has been my favorite Laker basically since his arrival. The seemingly inevitable trade will be tough as hell to swallow for me.

I get going after the big fish but how great would it be to watch a team of Ball, PG, Ingram, Kuz and Randle for a few years? They could be fantastic together IMO.

This is pretty much it. If Ingram was in his 4th year making these same mistakes, he'd be getting trashed.

I still have faith Ingram will improve though. He has improved in some spots, he just has to get comfortable knocking down shots (ironically one of the complaints we've had with Randle for 3 years now).

I agree with some of the sentiment, but not all of it. Part of what drives Randle's advanced stats through the roof is the small windows. If he played longer minutes, a lot of the gaudy numbers would come down a bit. I think we're on to something that the Lakers are trying to spike his value because those numbers are astronomical.

Also, while the advanced stats say Bogut and Randle together is great defensively, it's a struggle offensively. Bogut is a non-threat and it really puts the pressure on Randle to take the outside jumper. Last night he took a three and buried it so hopefully he gains some more confidence to take that shot. He said he was working on it all summer and we all saw the clips. It's time for him to take that step.

    He was awful tonight.

Why Luke didn’t bench Julius for Bogut is beyond me.

Oh wait I know. Luke sucks.

Good energy, but it was like watching a guy on a treadmill trying to race people on the ground.

Can't blame Jules for this game. Embiid was a monster as a rim protector so Jules double clutched a bunch of shots and short-armed (have fun with that one) a ton as well, due to Embiid's presence. Lets keep it real you guys, Jules gives up a considerable amount in weight and height to Embiid, so I think he did an admirable job when he had no business being put in that position. That's all on Luke and why they didn't continue to double team Embiid till Philly proved it could make a 3 ball, is beyond me.

Jules doesn't deserve the hate tonight...its on Luke and Zo IMHO.
