I really wish he'd hang it up and come join our staff, he'd be a great addition and is one guy Scott wouldn't have to worry about taking his job from him.

He'd be a much better teacher and practice dummy than Madsen.

Metta as a coach? Sure! He might be a crazy person, but he's a good basketball player with knowledge worth passing on to the next generations.

But Metta has also said he wants to still play in the NBA, so I'm not sure he's up for coaching. He'll try to hold out until at least February looking for a home in the NBA.

MWP would be credible as an assistant for the defense. Definitely not as a shooting coach. As a player at the 3 spot...? So tempted...

MWP. :h: this guy ever since he became a Laker!! This is a guy that can really help our players too like Nash and Kobe with the guards. Does anyone know if he has committed playing plans overseas or elsewhere yet for next year? Kinda hoping not, selfishly, so he can be around the team more. I absolutely think he is one specific person that Upshaw should spend time with and would benefit tremendously from that.

Edit..... Just read in next posts he still wants a chance back in the league. As a backup, and a player to have everyone's "back" when someone needs a reminder out there to knock it off with the cheap shots to our key players, yeah that is a tempting idea but probably not going to happen.

I'd love to have Metta on coaching staff. But I just love that guy period.

I'll be happy if he's half the player Karl was :p
Also, what is he doing? Half dead lifting, half squating? Not impressed :p

Julius' perspective. Note: he's deadlifting 405 in that picture. Pretty damn good amount for a man his size.

edit- Here's his quote from the picture:

405 for a man 6'9" is impressive because of how far the weight has to travel.

Watching huge, grown men bounce off of him shows me the Julius is an absolute bull. He's not explosively athletic, but he's very agile and quick for a guy his size. With that strength and agility, there's no reason he couldn't be a Ron Artest-level defender. He just has to put his mind to it.

He doesn't have Ron's instincts on that end. Ron was a fantastic defender, maybe one of the best ever. I think Julius can be really good defensively if he puts his mind to it, but he's not a natural on that end of the floor at all. Just the opposite in fact.

Right. Ron had incredible hands and timing. I just meant that Julius could be like Ron physically on defense.
