Saw this on reddit, and I was kinda making the same comparison after watching him lead the team. I was calling Hart a Fisher type during the game, but Hart is definitely already more skilled.

    Jimmy Butler

    • 4 years of college

    • 22 year old rookie

    • pick 30 overall

    • 8.6/4/1.4 with 46.7/38/80 splits in his first full year

    • 20.8/6.5/2 with 43/50/89 and 0.8 steals in summer league as a 2nd year player
    Josh Hart

    • 4 years of college

    • 22 year old rookie

    • pick 30 overall

    • 7.9/4.2/1.3 with 46.9/40/70 splits in his first full year

    • 24.2/5.2/2.3 with 48/40/80 and 1.5 steals in summer league as a 2nd year player
Is Jimmy Butler a good ceiling for JHart?

wow...the butler comparison might actuallly be accurate...but J Hart will need to start this year and play HUGE minutes if we're gonna get that type of production from him this year.

I'm ecstatic we have this guy. Can't wait to see what he does with LeBron.

Jimmy Butler would be an astounding ceiling for Josh Hart.

Besides conventional wisdom, I'm having trouble thinking why he couldn't be Josh's ceiling. A big obstacle: Josh is shorter than Jimmy. Jimmy came into the league at 6'6" without shoes. Josh is 6'3.75" without shoes. Jimmy is 6'7.75" in his shoes and Josh is 6'5" (or shorter than Jimmy even when Jimmy isn't wearing shoes at all). Jimmy also is a hair quicker and faster, but a much better leaper. Hart maxed out vertical at 35.5" while Jimmy maxed at 39". To Josh's credit, he's got nearly the same standing reach as Jimmy because Jimmy's length isn't great.

The numbers are very similar for sure. Great find.

And Josh is our 4th best young fella.

I'm hoping BI, Zo, Kuz, Josh and Svi + Mo are able to grow up together.

wow I didn't know those summer league stats after their rookie year were that similar. Even their rookie years were.

    Great post!

Look at this guy, what an incredible teammate. I can’t understand why Sirron hasn’t joined the dark side yet with %90 of us. They have cake.

I don't need camp and pre-season games. He's better than KCP quantitatively already by some amount when everything is factored in. During their competition I expect this to become evident. But again maybe the best thing for the team and strategy is he remains a super sub off our bench destroying his opponents off the bench just like Summer League. Leads protected and most certainly with this year's bench players .... leads expanded or runs made to catch us up. We are f****** deep!

Honestly defense is ahead of KCP. Shooting is at the very least equal. Rebounding is ahead.

Also KCP tends to have extremely selfish stretches during some games. Josh is always seemingly in control. So decision making is also ahead.

As of right now I wouldn't trade Hart for KCP which means he would be my starter.
