...I was going to broach this subject a few days back BUT knowing someone else out there has played more sets Hart back. Sure enough that someone happened to be Fox.

More potential? I don't know about that. Russell for his faults has many talents. Hart might have a longer career and in the end might have more success in the NBA due to his low floor and strong work ethic, but Russell has more potential and a higher ceiling.

Josh needs to up his Social Media game.
    100

I would say that Josh has the far greater likelihood of actually reaching his full potential though.

Really? I think Josh is already right there and his offense keeps improving. I see Josh already having a bigger ceiling than Russell.

I think “ceiling” and “potential” are more related to natural talent. If so, I think DLO scores higher in that dept than Hart, but who will get the most out of their talent is a completely different story.

Some would say TMAC was more naturally talented than Kobe, but no one would choose TMAC’s career over Kobe’s.

And for those that disagree and feel the other side must be blind to not understand your comparison, this gif is for you.

Josh to me seems already more of a natural than Russell and in his first half of his first season....Already quietly becoming a nice 2 way player. Dare I say, starting to be become "high" key lol. I understand he's older, but none the less Russell is in his 3rd year, not to mention seems to be dealing with a knee issue.

I like and I'll take Harts potential with the already promise he's shown as the bigger "ceiling" guy at THIS, very moment :)

Russell is starting look like a bust. A #2 pick should not coming off the bench for Spencer Dinwiddie. His knees are a legitimate concern. I'd honestly rather have Hart on this team moving forward.

    This.

Russell may never reach his full potential (it's starting to look that way), but he's got more of it than Hart. He's a more natural scorer, a more natural shooter, a more natural passer. Hart is a better athlete, probably a smarter player, and has a better work ethic which makes me more comfortable reaching his full potential, but Hart's full potential is a solid NBA starter. Russell's full potential is an All-Star caliber player if he ever gets his head screwed on straight, takes the game seriously, and his knees hold up fine.

I was never a big Russell fan, but I don't think we should be tearing down his overall potential to support our guy. I love Josh, but that doesn't mean I have to bury Russell to do so.

I was a big Russell fan. I wanted to draft him badly. However, I prefer Hart for a few reasons.. He has heart, definitely has a better head on his shoulders, and is built on defense. Hart is the kind of guy that helps win championships. I'm not sure if Russell's immaturity will ever fade. I know I prefer Hart's hard defense to lazy frustrating turnovers.

Josh has been improving rapidly by his first half of professional basketball wouldn't you say?

Russell shot 41% his rookie year. Hart is shooting at 47% already.

Although it's not really fair to compare DLO, a 3rd year man to a rookie especially since DLO was billed as a scorer from the get go and has taken a lot more attempts but if you do, look at Hart's games where he played 30min+ (12 total):

    13.42PTS / 7.83REB / 2AST / 1.08STL / .5BLK
    .536 FG%
    .429 3P%
    FTs: 72%
Averaged 34 mins - 9.25 attempts per game, played a lot of defense.

Hart's D is far better than DLO's, whether man or help D. Forget about boarding. DLO gets left in the dust. DLO does play for steals but at the expense of effective defensive positioning and that's it.

Based on the 30,in games sample, by comparison D'Angelo (career) averages less than 1 point more than Hart and on 13 attempts avg compared to 9.25. DLO's 3's aren't too hot either, miserable this year shooting FG% of 42% & 28% (rounded) on 3Ps. Hart's shooting 47% FG% & 40% 3Ps (rounded) career so far, if you nvm the 30+ min sample of 54% & 43% on 3s (also rounded).

DLO is neither a D or a 3 guy. Hart is proving himself better than just a D & 3 guy as he's filling the box score

As for the small sample size of a dozen games, Hart was statistically consistent in all these games which does mean a lot.

I'd say so far, compared to DLO, he's is first of all, a 2-way player, and is a more efficient player offensively. DLO is more of a PG and passes better but that's not what we needed him for with the aquiring of ZO. Same with Hart we needed a wing and he fits that bill better. I never could stand how every time DLO would score other teams would just score right back. They'd score right back when he missed too. He was a liabilty and over-rated. A really good off-the-bench scorer 6th man is his true calling but lowly teams will start and feature him. I'll take a guy like Hart when building a champ team any day over DLO. He's also making it possible for us to not resign KCP for some stupid contract and lets us wait if our 2FAs plan doesn't pan out this summer. Hopefully we could get some luck out of Zu and/or Bryant like that too so we don't get stuck with this problem with Lopez.
