Clarkson may have little room to grow, but I think he's extremely valuable to our team. He fills a need (scoring off the bench as 6th man) and has a good 8-10 years of production left in him. The only way I trade him (other than landing a star) is to shed Deng's salary. Even then, I'd have to consider it carefully. I don't see why everyone's in a hurry to get rid of him.

We don't need offense, we need defense/getting rid of bad contracts more than anything. We have enough offensive weapons to score and our bench without jc is still decent

I'm not, but I'm still looking to see what I can get. I'm looking to see what I can get with every kid.

Getting rid of your second highest scorer to get rid of bad contracts isn't a good idea.

Agree, especially when we make a different small move and have enough room to outright sign George with MozDeng still on the team. Until it's absolutely necessary to trade a guy like MozDeng, then we'll talk.

Typically, I'd agree, but look at Nick and Lou - they aren't difference makers, and they could both score. When your second leading scorer is getting 14.7 a game, a) there is something deeply wrong with the team and b) you can afford to lose that guy.

JC was 54th in the NBA in scoring, and he had the 19th (of 100) worst TS% of anyone scoring at least 10.5 PPG. He's nothing special on offense - and that's what he's here for. He's one of the worst defenders in the NBA over the last three seasons.

I agree. We are not the best team in the world to have untouchables.

We should be constantly looking to see whats out there. Not necessarily getting rid of people but knowing whats on the table. If a GM doesn't do his due diligence, he should be fired.

I hope he "cut off both arms" and worked on his defensive slides.

So I said earlier that, referring to JC, you don't trade your #2 scoring option to clear some cap. No, apparently the Lakers trade their #1 scoring option and best playmaker in a dump. Oh how I overestimated this FO.
