if minn is desperate n butler puts the laker out there i would offer 2 1st and a 2nd with deng...with some creative trades, we still might have room for leonard too

I think the talks about Kyrie and Butler teaming up on one of those New York teams are true. If Kyrie has cold feet on that plan then Butler becomes an option but man talk about a loaded collection of wings. Of course he's our plan D or something though.

I'm not that into Butler to be completely honest. I like the person, but the player just screams redundancy on this roster

Maybe, but it's the kind of redundancy that was huge for Boston's run last year. I dont know if you can have too many wings that can play great defense, hit an outside shot, and create looks for others. Basically all the same reasons George would have been valuable.

Is he that great of a creator? I've never been amazing or intrigued by that part of his game. He doesn't do anything amazingly, but a lot of things well. Every team can use a player like that but at MAX money, I'm not a fan of that.

Boy i would LOVE to get Jimmy Butler on this roster without giving up Kuz, Ingram or Zo.

If I'm Minny, I seriously consider doing Hart, Deng and 1st round pick for Butler. Hart is basically in the same mold of Butler (very similar skillset), and then they also get a 1st round pick and take back Deng as the cost...and it's better than receiving NOTHING for Butler who could bolt for New York or Brooklyn.

The stars are aligning guys....I LOVE LOVE LOVE our leverage right now especially 1 day after we hear that Kawhi will consider staying in Toronto!

Toronto, you can go ahead and trade him to the Clippers because we are not going to bend over backwards to get Kawhi when we can get Butler from Minny for a lower price.

Oh, and if we unload Deng in a Butler deal? There's a path to opening a max slot over the summer and STILL getting Kawhi...

Talk about LEVERAGE...we have so much of it.

Offer Deng, bonga, Zu, and 2 first round picks for Butler, but we need commitment from Butler to do this trade. Then go after Kawhi in the summer.

    Zo
    Butler
    Kawhi
    Ingram
    LeBron

Best defense in the league with the best bench

    Rondo
    Hart
    Svi
    Kuz
    Wagner

He's a better creator than most. He's averaged at or around 5 assists to around 2 turnovers a game for the last three years.

He's averaged 20+/~5/~5 and ~2 steals a game for the last three years. If that's not a max player, what is?

He’ll fall off a cliff like Luol Deng after Thibs is done with him. Already experiencing injuries. Buyer Beware.

Shhhh .... Glick is not a Lakers fan .... he's a Spurs fan and Thibs is his guy as he followed him to MN. To that I say ....

    :LukeBackhandSlap:

..... on coming to this forum and choosing to like MN because of this coach over even trying to appreciate what Luke and the Lakers front office and young and talented roster are ready to bring this year. Leaving LBJ entirely out of the equation. How bout that. Open your mind opposing teams fan guy. Said with a smile. But you can't dismiss all that above simply because of LeBron. Or why is it exactly you can find nothing to be interested in and maybe become a fan of with the Lakers situation? Thibs's Bulls. How about a smarter approach .... even now .... over being dangerous to players' health as sirron alludes to above with how he runs a team?

If it takes Bonga or Wagner too, I’m good with it.

Anything to drop that Dung contract.
