What happened with Bynum workout? I have a hard time believing he's not still better than Zu.

I was all on the Zu train his rookie year. But he appears to have gotten slower, which is pretty incredible considering how slow he was originally. I've seen frozen molasses that moves faster than him.

Credit where it’s due, he only played a handful of minutes tonight, but he used them well. Couple blocks, ran the floor hard, good energy.

That's what we need to see, the good timing and jumping on those blocks and moving laterally better. He is quicker this year but his anticipation and reaction to situations has to get to a consistently good level. He needs minutes and confidence. I hope Luke sets him up for good minutes off the bench when Javale is out and he's not running small ball.

He played very well last night. Maybe he just needs some consistent minutes to get into it. He looked faster, more determined on defense. That's what we want to see from him.

The return of Zublaca last night. I like it! More fire on the defensive end like last night and he'll actually see some more time and contribute. Definitely a big step in the right direction.

I really like Zu, I like his traditional center's skill set. It adds another dynamic to to the game and go half court when we want to.

Its refreshing to see such soft touch and post game.I just don't think he gets enough opportunity. I feel like he legitimately adds to our bench's depth, so much hustle and adequate offensive talent.

So it turns out Zu’s slow start may have been due to an illness? If that’s the case it would make perfect sense and why he’s looked better in recent games. Something like that could definitely sap the strength of most mortals. Here’s to hoping he continues to improve and he is as good as we’re hoping him to be.

Excuses excuses. Michael Jordan once scored 100 points in a playoff game with the flu while the other team was allowed to play with 2 extra players to guard him and he got stabbed by a fan sitting courtside.

I don't know about anyone else but the more this "bug he caught coming home from the world tournament" affecting his first few pre-season games and how pissed off he is too and wanting so bad to do good here in LA ..... sinks in the more excited I become. Zu says he is in the best shape of his life and took no days off this summer. He goes on record with the interview to say not even fun time with the hot 5 years older GF. :giggle:

And what do we need? A decent true 7 foot Big Man back up CENTER .... eff all the hardest core "small ballers" .... who can decently protect the rim, run the floor and score down low with a bit of a decent J out to 3 points. I'm drinking the Zu aid again. He's our answer for now and Moe Wagner will be a much better classical small ball center than Larry Nance was equipped to be.

Ergo .... our center rotation is looking up all of a sudden. I think Zu can be now a better than decent player in all those regards especially around all these guys and the great passers who can take advantage with him in there.

Zu's rebounding leaves much to be desired. He's standing still and hoping it'll bounce to him. He needs to go after the ball.

Now has a personal coach and motivator in McGee... Took it to the cup strong a couple times in the fourth. A third one got snuffed but drew the foul.

I saw some effort on a couple of plays, but despite his length, he was easily boxed out due to lack of strength when it came to rebounds.

Decent rim protection. Decent finishing. Needs guard penetration to look like an average center. Without it, he mostly just seems to disappear. IT made him look like a potential star. I bet Rondo gets some good minutes out of him.

He is less impressive than Williams.

    I'd rather have Williams.

I like Williams...plays with an edge and will mix it up inside. Fits the small ball concept at the 5. Flushed it down on Bagley's mug.
