I miss the funny interviews, but I guess you have to actually play, and play decently, in order to get interviewed. Oh well, potential great players will not be denied, and they force their way to the top. The fact that we don't hear from the press or players about his development or taking Brolo or the other dinosaur to task in practice should tell us all we need to know. I hope that changes. Love to see a new great big man on the Lakers.
His confidence must have took a massive hit the last 6 months. We were talking about him possibly starting this year, what happened.
Hoping that it has ignited a fire to work the hardest he ever has and finally take the next step that has gotten soooo sidetracked and delayed. And Lopez coming of course.
I don't know what it is with Zu. But on a clip a couple days ago (granted with a running start) he gets up pretty good on a lob for a guy his size to slam. But from down around the basket when he jumps his hands a lot of the time barely get over the rim like he's 6 foot instead of 7. He can't split the difference at least with his vertical between running and standing start? C'mon Zu do this jump to the next level or you are gone for sure.
so apparently they're keeping zubac down in the g-league for now i guess that means we'll see nance starting at C
G-League is a great thing for Zu. Hes learning to run and gun. He was too used to Euro/half court ball.
Oh christ Zu was half way down page 2. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/m/ddeb60c6-5337-399e-b7e5-8b1496aa01d9/ss_lakers'-ivica-zubac.html
@sirronstuff Thankfully directed me to it. Desperately needed. This season has turned into one giant shrug.
Zu was my guy but he has no idea what he is doing out there. Either let him live in the G league or it’s goodbye for him.
It's like he forgot how to play ball over summer. Not sure if its him or the team handling his development wrong. Or maybe a bit of both.
He was moving the best he's ever moved as far as quickness and threw a couple good passes like he was supposed to. It certainly wasn't anything like summer league or early part of the season. Several times he moved his feet really well and stayed in front of his man on D. I think if he got some time now and they would hit him on the roll and use his size down low instead of Lopez floating around always on the perimeter. He hasn't played with the big team much this year so of course some rust. I think he would have more impact for us starting next year than Brook has had this year so far. I'd like to see him get burn this 2nd half like he did last year and see how well Lonzo can get the ball to him in good positions.
Rather than Lopez floating around jacking threes how much better would we be perhaps when needing a true big man to have Lonzo and others hitting Zubac on the roll for the points and keeping him down low. Not that he can't shoot occasional Js and 3s. But he was open a number of times after the pick and his roll last night against OKC. Very simple. Want to see Lonzo have a chance to hit him and feed him for the gimmies.
