He had a good stretch towards ends of the year. How's that not somen to give him one last hoorah for? Y'all musta forgot, along with his circumstances. Giving up in players early especially when they don't cost you much is dumb imo.

Forgot what? When he came into camp overweight and out of shape? When he came in unprepared for Summer League assuming he'd dominate? When he failed to develop a jumper or any facet of his game really at all?

Three games? Out of 82? That makes up for it?

The guy didn't take things seriously when Magic made it clear what we expected. I'd be very surprised to see him on the roster next season.

I'd like to think he was just finding his niche after getting adapted to more modern small ball. What is his cap hold? I'm guessing less than 1.2 mill. Anyways I have no reason to discuss further if you don't catch my drift haha.

For a 7 footer god he plays short getting above the rim. Agree with real that he really blew it last year not getting in great shape coming into Summer League. Last few games he scored decently were mostly lobs, not because of improving and refined skills.

May be too late now but I hope he can open some eyes by really improving over this summer.

That's all he's gonna be asked for him to do. Pnr... Run and catch lobs/get offensive boards.

And not look lost on defense and getting worked. He's really got to step it up in so many areas. And he needs to carve himself enough time on the floor to be able to shoot Js as they present themselves. I'm pulling for him but won't be surprised if he's traded in Deng dump or doesn't have his team option picked up because they need the money.

maybe he'll get at least a 2 pack next year too.

We all know a 6 pack is asking a bit much...

bryant couldn't even get on the roster. just sayin'. zubac made a mistake; it happens when you're 20. i don't think they plan on cutting him now for that. if he's gone, it will be because they needed space or found a bunch of useful vets. i don't think they'll drop him to pursue another project.

I hope that he is getting stronger. For a guy his height, his base is weak sauce. He could be a really good defender if had more core/base strength. He's built in a way that he could become an immovable object if he wanted to. I like the kid but he needs to realize this is a golden opportunity for him. There are so many guys that would kill to have the chances that he's had. I hope he is working his tail end off and comes into this next season as a man on a mission.

If the guy drastically improves on defense he will see the floor. Any offense he provided would be gravy.

I think they'd cut him in an instant if they drafted another project in Mitchell Robinson. He's not Magic and Rob's guy and he's not a great fit for their roster. Barring a transformation from him this summer, he is likely gone. Soon we'll be competitive again and he'll be the kind of project we don't need to spend time on. They wont cut him for no reason, but they'll replace him pretty easily.

Isn't this the same guy you said had no value earlier this summer?

Looking forward to seeing Zu again in summer league to see if anything has changed. Granted summer league will start when Free Agency has been underway and as others have mentioned he would be waived during this too to make additional room salary wise.
