Under no circumstance should IT be back on this team next season. If we strike out on George/LeBron, i would rather use the cap space on any other player than IT. It’s painful to watch him on the defensive end and how he can get scored on more often than Snookie from the Jersey Shore. It’s a virtual guarantee that if you give the ball to whoever IT is guarding, they just have to back him up in the post and lay it in.
Offering Caruso a contract right now would make him a RFA this summer. Essentially, he would count as a cap hold. I think LA wants every bit of wiggle they can afford right now for #2018Plan purposes. This way, we still have his rights, but he wouldn't count against our cap. We get our main shopping done this summer and then round out the roster by offering him a minimum Ennis type deal like last summer. Fyi: IT can't be bought out and and join another team's playoff roster, cause the deadline to be bought out and be playoff eligible was March 1st.
Walton should have drawn up a play for Kuzma... Even on a subpar night I'd trust him more. Plus Kuzma's what? A foot taller?
We REALLY have a problem typically shaking guys open to even catch a pass on crucial out of bounds plays.
the only way i'd welcome IT back next season is if he's willing to accept a 6th man role which he won't so
The only way I’d want him next year if LeBron, unlikely, hooked him up with his Miami dealer and the latter provided IT with some kickarse growth hormone and IT grew like a foot.
I have no interest in resigning him. Something like Orlando is a better fit for him. I used to like the guy but this season he has only been complaining all the time. He has no future with our team.
"I'm not no 6th man" actually confirms that he is. And, unlike some people here who don't like him (which is fine, I respect their opinion), I would welcome him in that role. He fits well with Lonzo, he plays well with Randle. But realistically, we can only use him as a bench player. If he wants more, he is going to have to test the market, but I am afraid he is going to be disappointed. Now the reason why I like him is this: as a bench player his weak points are not as important. He comes in, he scores, energizes our young guys, brings some positive energy and passion. He clearly loves the game and works hard, because that is the only thing that keeps you in the league if you are listed at 5-9 (meaning he's closer to 5-7, really).
Yeah easy bucket for Randle but not an easy pass. Would have had to bounce it or make a perfect lob over those two guys and could he even see Randle back there in the heat of taking a bail out shot with those guys in his face arms outstretched?
Thomas has made interior passes around defenders to our bigs before...Zubac, Randle, Lopez, Wilt. This time he just wanted to win the game on his own. The shot looked good but just short.
