Well, he may be better than Nate, but seems to have the same or worse delusions of grandeur.

The dude is an OK offensive player (not sure I wouldn’t prefer Lou over him). A nothing defensive player. And a pound-the-ball PG. MY MOST HATED KIND.

Def prefer Lou. Scores consistently with 1/4 of the effort.

Is anyone surprised that he would say this? We all want him to be a 6th man. But if he admitted as much he would lose money and years in negotiations this summer.

D Rose said he wouldn't come off the bench for us or CLE and now he's just trying to stay in the league. IT is gonna do/say as much as he can to get the most money in free agency. Any of us would.

In July, the market will tell him exactly how much he'll make and how many minutes he's gonna play.

I don't get why everyone here is trying to make him out as a villain. He's not perfect, he's a 0 on D and the jump passes drive me insane. But he's been our best scorer since Lou Will and he's playing a role in developing some of the young guys. Kuzma is a big boy, I think he can handle a little yelling. Randle himself said he'd go to war with IT. I'd rather have the young guys get into arguments while winning instead of being all "chill and cool" with losing.

And I just have to mention this in this thread... I would be a jerk too if I was handed the cards he was dealt. He's been given a raw deal! The C Bags royally screwed him over. They shipped him out after he put his body and career on the line for that franchise.

And yes, I would take Lou Will over him all day. I think lots of team would also, so if he's offered a better contract than 3yr/21mil...he needs to take it. If not, stay here and stick it to Boston in the finals next year.

I hope he gets the kind of offers he’s hoping for, but there aren’t too many great contracts being handed out at 12:01 AM since Mitch was fired.

But you’re right. The market will dictate what’s he’s worth and the role he’ll play. But IMHO it’s foolish to broadcast that if the worst case scenario happens that you’ll be a mouthy malcontent.

who has cap space and an open starting pg slot? pretty much nobody, right?

boston did screw him. i'm pretty amazed at their success recruiting FAs given their treatment of players, but i guess these guys don't think like me. i wouldn't want to work for that organization.

I would expect every nba GM to do what Ainge did. It sucks that he played hurt but when you can trade for Kyrie, you do it.

I find what Ainge did defensible... but I guess for me his reputation as a "jerk" (being kind) preceded him. No one is clearly in the wrong but, IT clearly got screwed over in the end.

If not singing LeBron means IT stays and starts, then I’ll be down on my knees praying to sign LeBron for the next few months.

What IF by chance...James decides Houston, George comes on board by his lonesome and Thomas stays and Randle is retained?

He still wouldn't start unless we move the 3 forwards out of position, bi to pf or pg n randle to C.....

I’d be cool with just Geoge and Randle, and looking elsewhere for a bench PG. I can’t stand IT’s game, he dribbles for 22 seconds and chucks, or just chucks. Yes, he also gets hot and hits nice shots and gets to the rim and scores as well as drops some nice dimes, but I’d be fine still having Clarkson in his place right now.

I’ll be praying to a different deity than Jim Buss because obviously that one didn’t work.

I really don't think Thomas will be back...even if we whiff on Free Agency 2018.
