I gotcha. Hinkie is definitely treating this kids like commodities instead of building blocks. His idea is preposterous. "Oh we're waiting for the next Jordan to come through the draft to build around" meanwhile a handful of really solid players are just being wasted over there while he shuffles them around. Unbelievable. What's worse is his fanbase seems to be behind him too.

Upshaw had more tuchrs in ISO at the top of the key than he did in the post. WTf was that?

Yeah, I seen that play. Out of a timeout, Upshaw at the top of the post; are you freaking kidding me?

It happened at least three times. I think Doc and I were talking about it in GD. Out of a timeout is even worse though.

I'd venture to say that we don't have an "offense" yet. This is summer league and these guys are probably having trouble remembering each others names much less an offense.

Any offense we run with a group this young will have good days and bad days. Probably more bad days early in the season until they acclimate to the speed of the NBA. Again, this is summer league, this is nothing compared to what playing regular season games will be. Less than 10% of all summer leagues will see significant roles in the NBA so this is more like open tryouts than organized basket ball.

No we do have an offense. Dating back to Brown and the Princeton, the bigs would get the ball at the top of the key. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but Brown actually sent the bigs to the post after their roll, which initiated the secondary offense. Which is a good move.

Compared to this where the big gets the ball, holds onto it, waits for a guard to get it and then floats to the 3pt-midrange never to be used again. It happened all season last year.

Upshaw should be rolling, the guard attacking Upshaw's man and get him or any big for that matter easy looks. There is none of this going on and it didn't happen last year either.

They do all that action (Big dribble hand off to the off guard coming of a screen) to get an ISO behind the 3 point line with <10 seconds on the shot clock. It happened multiple times last night. It's terrible predictable offense we are running and the reason why defenses are smothering JC/DR off the pick because we aren't doing anything after it.

Lets just agree that Byron is not a very good coach ;)
It will be easier this way... (and before someone points out summer league is on Mark... it's not :p).

You guys are just not sophisticated and old school enough to understand Byron's genius.

Yeah, I don't like it one bit. These are people, not "assets." I find it distasteful to speak of people in those terms or as property. Hinkie rubs me completely wrong.

Hinkie tries to do NBA business like a fan...I'll tank until I get a good roster, I'll lie if necessary and I don't care about business relations...its business after all.

I think he will be gone by the end of the season. It seems like every GM in the league hates him already. He doesn't seem to understand integrity and honor.

Trust the process LOL....what a joke.
