Dmc initial story of unfollowing pelican wasnt much but with him following pg, randle right after.....hmmmm:Kareemlook: :ShaqOh2:......cuz dont do random things like that....id give him 3yr deal starting at 20, give him yr 2 n 3 as his opt so he can still feel he has chance to get his max $ back if he does fully recover

More options are always welcome as contingencies. Whatever gives LA leverage is always a good thing.

Look at it this way, Boogie can always be used as trade capital later. But again, I'm only looking at him as a contingency.

with a strong leader, I could see him being an asset

He'd have to have someone LLLLLebronish to make that risk worth it IMHO.

And we all know how I feel about that.

I would not say Lavar is the type of leader I was thinking of that could get more out of Cousins and keep him in line.

Sounds like Cousins knows Pelicans are hesitate to offer the max and he wants the max

Even if all our options dry up this off-season I still don't offer anything close to the MAX for Cousins. Everything in how we want to play going forward is something Cousins can't really help us do. We want to be fast, keep the ball moving, and space the floor.

I'd rather we save our money and use it better in 2019.

How would you guys feel about the summer if:

    - We signed Paul George to a 4 years max contract
    - Signed Cousins to a short term max contract (3 year max contract - 2 years + 1 year player option)
    - Lost Randle to restricted free agency to sign the two players noted above, because we can't find a team to dump Deng.

I think all of us could agree at the beginning of the season, this would have been a home run for the Lakers. However everyone has the fear that Cousins will be dead money after the Achilles injury....

I was a huge fan of Cousins game in the modern NBA, prior to his injury skill wise he was right there with Embiid and Towns. If he could come back at 80% of what he was, he can still be effective I think.... plus the two players fit very well position wise into the starting lineup (versus Lebron and George, where we suddenly have a glut of small forwards).

    Cousins
    Kuzma
    George
    Ingram
    Ball

Personally I would be happy.....if Cousins comes back and is only able to play 40 games a year and averages only 8ppg and 6rpg....then my bad lol.

I'd be furious! We're going to lose Randle to a question mark of Cousins coming off of an achilles that Lakers fans are all too familiar with. I'm sure Mintz would hate it as well that two of his bigger clients still don't get to play together in LA. We'd also have just lost arguably our most important switch defender on the team for a slower player who is battling a significant injury.

Edit: Not to mention the look it gives to other players and franchises. We're not going to reward our own players after they've done everything we've asked them to as far as getting in shape and listening to the coaching staff, but kick him to the curb and signing a player who may or may not come back to his peak performance because of that Achilles tear.

If we're bringing in Cousins, that's one thing. Personally I think it'd be a mistake to give him more than a year-long contract especially at a high price tag.

But to also lose Randle for Cousins? After an Achilles tear? If Cousins was 100% healthy, I can make that move, but there's absolutely zero chance he comes back the same player and certainly not right away.

Don't want Cousins with that Achilles tear. I barely wanted him before that. Now? No.

@Khmrp You can keep Jules and give maxes to both PG and Boogie.

Team salary with Deng and Jules cap hold: 52M (about $50M in cap space which means PG and Boogie would have to take about a 5M haircut off each of their maxes)

Stretch Deng and team salary is 41M (60M in cap space)

George & Boogie maxes: 30.3M each
    LaBron max: 35.6M

PG is not taking a pay cut if he comes here. I'd love it but it's just not happening.

Does that figure include any of the team options, the #25 pick or roster holds?
