Their draft was solid, but I don't see any prospect on their team with the same impact as Lonzo. If they got a bunch of "okay" guys and we got the stud, don't we win? Fox looks like more of a project than some people anticipated. If Hart is even a decent player, I think we won the draft and I think our FAs/trades were better too. Debatable this early for sure, but I'd put the Kings in our slot on that list and move us up.

i'm not sure a collection of older college allstars projects as a great draft. that team definitely wins the ncaa title last year, though!

getting george hill was really nice for them, and i think bogdanovic might help them win some, too. but otherwise...i don't know. none of their young players have been super impressive, and i think carter and randolph are both one false step away from not being able to be on the court.

Randolph was quietly benched last year. He can't keep up with modern basketball with his size and weight. He's a good player to have around the basket off the bench, but he's really not very good anymore.

Very small and thin, but a feisty guy. He's defensive minded. I don't think he's better than Ennis, but I could see him getting a half-way decent shot. Probably ends up on the SB Lakers though.

A big problem with those deep dive statistics is that this guy doesn't get big minutes so his numbers are inherently going to be wonky. He's played in only 27 games and 374 minutes total in his career. He's played with 4 different teams in just 2 years.

I'm not saying he's a great defender or that these numbers are unfair, but there's some context here. For instance, I'm sure Randle's numbers are atrocious from his rookie season.

I actually didn't see your post when I put this up. Wasn't trying to rebut you here and agree with your points. This was part of a handful of tweets I saw on him after the signing.

Oh no sweat, I think it's all just good discussion. I didn't think you were coming after me or anything.

Besides, I think both of our posts can be right: just because Weber is defensive minded, doesn't mean he's a good defender. :D

Briante not a good defender? But he was 2017 NBA D-League All-Defensive Team (2017), 3× Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year (2013–2015), 3× Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team (2013–2015) NCAA All-Defensive Team (2012), NCAA season steals leader (2014)
