Was more of a rhetorical question. It was a compliment to Boogie =)

Ah, no. Boogie starts. McGee with the energy team to start the second quarter and 4th quarter. If Boogie is healthy and back to form, you do not bench the best Center in the game. 25-12 players do not grow on trees.

Yeah, I'm thinking Boogie will end up starting and finishing for us, but will probably still play on a minutes restriction all season just to keep him fresh. We can afford that with McGee and AD. We let go of Williams QO, but I hope we can grab some sort of 3rd big just in case.

you do when he's quite terrible as a PnR defender, if you didn't notice in the finals, Tor kept attacking that switch and every time a Tor G would just pull up on 3's as boogie sag so much off his guy during that switch....also you dont need that many "mouths to feed" on offense in the starting lineup, AD/James should get theirs and the other 3 just gets the crumbs, Boogie/Kuz would dominate opposing team's backups

I wouldn't count Finals Boogie into that equation. He was just coming back from his quad injury and was not in any sort of game shape. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with a full offseason to get healthy and time to mesh with the team defensively.

He probably won't be starting to begin the season, and will probably be on minute restrictions, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him start and finish games by the end of the season.

that def aspect isn't big deal in regular season I just think having 2 dynamic scoring talent off the bench is more beneficial than having say a Kuz/Mcgee pairing off the bench. Hopefully vogel is better at staggering the lineups and not hockey subs like Walton did...IMO one of AD, James and Cuz should be on the floor with any lineups. So James/Mcgee sits 1st for Kuz/Cuz and when AD sits, James comes back

    For me it's:

    Bradley
    Green
    James
    Davis
    Cousins

    First sub is (6m in):

    Cook
    Green
    Pope
    Kuzma
    Davis

    Second sub is (early 2nd):

    Cook
    Caruso
    Pope
    Kuzma
    McGee

Third sub is (mid 2nd) this one is skippable:

    Caruso
    Green
    Pope
    LeBron
    McGee

Back to the starters (last 4-5m of the 2nd) :

    Bradley
    Green
    LeBron
    Davis
    Cousins

    Repeat 2nd half.

I can recall the lakers/sacramento battles with boogie, and I absolutely hated how dominate he was. Cant wait to see him on our side and put it down. Lets do this .

I agree. When he was healthy, he was definitely the most skilled big man in the league. I put Pelicans Cousins over embiid, towns, gobert, jokic. Size with his passing, the ball handling, ability to create and shoot the three ball. He was virtually unguardable that last season in NO.

I think he'll start the season coming off the bench, but by game 20, I expect him to start.

Maybe Caruso comes in and knock down a few threes with this 2nd group, perfect scenario.

No one should be sleeping on Caruso and his size after how he played once he got the chance end of the season and against playoff teams. I'd bet on him if it was pure competition for 1st up PG duty when LeBron's taking a break and also playing alongside of him when needed.

I dont think defense is going to be an issue. Players looked lost before bc we had no defensive game plan. Help was late or non existant. Pick and roll defense was all too reactive. PnR defense should start before the pick is even set. With current coaching staff we will have a defensive plan and enough depth to play the players willing to execute it. Bad defenders before will look much better fast. Cousins will be a big part of that.

Damn, this is the skinniest I've seen Boogie been since coming out of college. He's gonna be motivated for max.

Prove em wrong Boog. Be that 3rd star the other weird dude didn't want to be.
