Hes full of u know what...prior to the trade he clearly stated Demps had all the authority to run that team as he wished. where is stern now to stop demps from his other terrible trades since that one when he was still commimsioner? also hes using semantics, if there "wasnt a trade" then why did cry babies like cuban and gilbert make public condemnation of the trade, especially gilbert writing a an essay like letter to stern? f'n weasel for sure

oh so now there wasn't even a trade according to stern. then what was "basketball reasons" in regards to idiot?

anyways, it's pretty simple why stern vetoed the trade

    1. he was trying to make the hornets attractive for potential buyers. how to do that? tank and secure the #1 overall pick in the next draft in order to get that franchise player to build around. which is why i'm also positive the '12 draft was rigged so that they could draft davis

    2. stern saw his golden boy lebron was having a little trouble winning that ring. so to make his path even easier, stern vetoes this trade knowing very well that the lakers would have still ended up getting howard in addition to cp3. cp3-kobe-howard no doubt posed a huge threat to the heat and stern wanted nothing to stand in lebron's way

...Stern sez there were really no agreements made between the teams so there was really nothing to cancel. His is trying to downplay or distance his involvement in it. Stern does not want to be remembered as a tool with the fiasco even though obviously he is.

Yeah whatever Stern. Spin it how you like, but the fact of the matter is you had the final say. Trying to say there was nothing to veto then blaming other parties when it was your decision to cancel the trade is just feckless. But no matter. He's done, it's done with, hurray for the Clippers. I think we're better set now than if the trade had gone through so...

    Hell, who is David Stern?

Old news. Thanks for all the positive you did, but it's undeniable shady stuff occurred during your tenure. Soon you'll be dead and gone, but the NBA will go on.

    Bo-bye

Sorry about the typo in title with Stearn. But yes, 432J ..... if I remember correctly it was pretty "fortuitous" for the Clippers with "no" foreknowledge of other teams' bids for Paul ..... that they came in the winner with a bid a "dime" :Shaqwink: over the next highest bid.

Possible Stern is using the Odom-to Dallas thing as a deal-killer - he doesn't mention that he suddenly got pressure from the CBA OWNERS MEETING in New York when the CP3 deal was announced to them. That was a BOMB in Stern's ear without Jerry Buss there to control it (Jeanie was there). It was an anti-Laker CBA and the CP3 announcement (during the meeting) and with personalities like Cuban there...we got beat into to ground. When the trade was announced, owners flipped out. Stern rescinded the deal. His reasons are valid from a basketball standpoint IMO but his boy @ GM was supposed to have autonomous decision making. So wtf
