I know lol. But you know what I mean. I remember last year there was a stat line that only 4 players had at PG at his age.

I'm just saying they don't mean anything. The only thing that counts is the win loss column. Unfortunately for Russell he has never been on a good team. So it would be unfair to judge him by wins and losses.

What then counts is the personal development. While there has been progress, the speed of his development is way behind the curve to be an all-star, which was my expectation when we drafted him.

At 22 his ceiling has come down quite a bit imo and mostly that's on him. It's got nothing to do with the talent and everything thing to do with his work ethic and how he approaches the game.

I feel exactly the same regarding DLO.

I hated that we traded him so quickly (and I still hate the trade)...but seeing him in BKN this year, I'm not that upset about it anymore.

He just doesn't impact the W/L column and he doesn't care enough on defense. He's good offensively, but he's not great.

Russell will be a good NBA player and have a long career...but hes' not ever going to be an All Star or Superstar.

I moved on and don't really think about him much tbh. I look at updates on him here, but maybe looked at a Brooklyn box score 2-3 times for the year. When I did, I think he was out on injury. Nice to see former players do well, but I was never attached to this guy.

Come on admit it you hate him for being a player they felt was not untouchable .... after you put so much effort into all of those gifs.

I've made so many for players we don't have any longer, I had to get over that in a hurry. I admit he was pretty gifable, and my avi is still sporting his eyebrow

Just never got too excited about him as a player. I agree with FabFour that he'll be a player for a long time, but I see him more settling into that MLE area of the pack unless he makes a good jump in the next couple of years. He's gifted, but the smoothness to his game and carefree attitude makes it appear the desire to be great isn't there. I hope I'm wrong of course, unless he's playing the Lakers.

He's not the hero in that story.

    But I chuckled.

I’m laughing at how petty he is. This was years ago now, you just won a title, and that’s what you’re thinking about? Damn. Don’t cheat then.

I'd take McGee in a heart beat. Yeah, he does boneheaded plays here and there, but we can do a lot worse. He pick and rolls hard, blocks shots, rebounds, runs hard, and hustles.

It was Game 2 where McGee made all of his first five attempts and had Golden State rolling. He's a perfect addition to that crew where they don't have to run plays for him. Loads of clean-ups and help D...

A stable environment with professionals was a good fit for him to be productive in a limited role. Same with Swaggy. He's not a 6th man candidate any longer, but he's a weapon in a limited focused role.

outside of a solid environment, both of those guys are kind of off the tracks a bit
