i'm actually surprised by this. i thought brewer was enjoying playing for the lakers and that the team liked him as a role model vet.

Makes sense for both sides, wonder what the Lakers would do with another open roster slot...

Veteran swingman Corey Brewer is in advanced negotiations toward securing a buyout from the Lakers to become a free agent, league sources say

Who's about to be bought out elsewhere?

    1) Lakers know they're not making the playoffs. That's okay, but good awareness.
    2) Decent thing for the Lakers to do since Corey can hopefully find a playoff team (could make his way back to Houston).
    3) The deadline is tomorrow to be added to a playoff roster. I hope Corey knows where he's going.

I liked Corey quite a bit. I'd welcome him back for the minimum this summer if he wanted to return. Interesting to see what we do with an extra spot.

Always had a fabulous attitude and I always left his interviews feeling great that he was on this team in how he could mentor and shape our kids.

Wish him nothing but the best and I too was a little surprised to see this, but the quotes Tania got make sense in why he wanted this. More than anything he just wants to play and I can respect that.

i think he's overestimating his value on the court at this point. good guy, though.

as for the roster spot, i think it's a good time to be looking at g-leaguers and such.

Thanks for that massive game against Houston this year for the win. One of the best highlights of the season for us.

I loved his professionalism, always came to play, and was a good role model for the young players. Another good PR move by Maginka to let him go to a playoff team, it was probably a mutual decision.

Plus, maybe we'll snag a player off waivers or bring someone up from our G-League team for a try out. Would love to find another Nwaba type.

He was a great locker room guy for our team, everyone seemed to like him. He also only plays at one speed when he’s out there, all hustle. Wish him well, hope he lands on a playoff team. Unless it’s OKC, then I hope he torpedoes them.

I really liked Brewer and I'm sorry he's gone. Ah well. He was a good mentor to the kids for sure. Hope he gets picked up by a good team and does well.

Classy move by the Lakers...and now this solidifies our rotation as the following:

    Lopez
    Randle
    Ingram
    KCP
    Zo

    bench:

    Zu
    Kuz
    Hart
    Thomas

Very solid 9-man rotation to finish the season.
