Everyone seems to forget we have him, as if we don't have a backup SF and we're screwed with having to play Dung there or slide Kuzma there. Brewer isn't great, but I love the way he plays, he inspires others to actually play defense at times. For a backup SF you could do worse.

Veteran guy who plays defense and plays hard consistently, just what we need IMO.

Yeah, I like Brewer and am hoping we keep him around this year as backup SF. He's a good veteran presence and he can play some minutes as well.

I think he makes it because we won't trade for anything during the season that's not expiring (unless a big-time star becomes available). Brewer is expiring. He makes it to the end of the year I think.

I agree with where youre coming from.. At the same time im curious if he can be valueable to a cash strapped team that needs some help. I think he would be good for a team like Cleveland or the Spurs.

There are teams that could use him for sure. But they'd have to give us back expirings and something to make it worth our while as well. We don't have our pick this season, so jettisoning people that may give us a couple unneeded wins (Lou Williams) isn't going to happen as the tank is in the garage. And is Brewer worth it to a team to throw a first rounder in as a sweetener? I think the only way Brewer isn't on our roster in April is if we are waaaaaaay out of any sort of contention and have packed it in. Then we might release him so he can go sign with a contender.

We're also not taking back a 1st for the 2018 summer as it'd greatly impact our finances.

All cause of 1.3 mill or so? I hated in the past when mitch gave away all those picks.

The Lakers wouldn't give Thomas Bryant more than one year because the Lakers want to keep every cent available.

We don't need any more Nances or Kuzmas though. It's more important for us to get LeBrons and Paul Georges.

Sure we do cause Nance is gonna need a new contract soon. Also George and Lebron can be signed with a late 1st rounder in the mix.

But I think we will want to use it on other veterans at that point. Zu, Hart, Kuzma, Nance, Ball and Ingram are pretty much guaranteed to be on the roster that season. That's enough youth. I'd much rather have that 1.3 or 1.5 million available to sweeten the deal on a veteran's contract (ie Lopez) or sign a veteran ring chaser looking to ride on LBJs coattails. I know we still have a lot of teenagers on our roster, but if we get LBJ and George, we are in win now mode. We need to spend that 1.3 million on people who can contribute right away as opposed to the potential of another kid.

I'm actually quite happy with the amount of young kids we have and wouldn't mind trading draft picks. We might actually have too much but a few are trying out.

Things are also different now with the G-League, if you're scouting department is good, you might be able to find gems from there if you need young and cheap players.

Agreed. Also i rather roll the dice on a first rounder instead of possibly signing a washed up a guy for 1.3 mill.

Nance,Hart,Bryant,Zu arent guarantees to be here next year as well. You got to develop a farm system if you can even if its one or two players at a time. Kuzma is gonna be clutch at his salary on a team with stars and thats cash strapped(assuming it all goes down like a Yung Joc video).

We have a lot of young guys, at some point you need them to develop into parts that can contribute to a championship. We have Randle, Clarkson, Nance, Zubac, Ingram, Lonzo, Kuzma, Hart and Bryant to choose from. That's enough right now.
