Paraphrasing Trudell on the LFR podcast : "Walton isn't too much interested in a brand of B-ball offensively because the team will be very different next season .

    Focus is on the defense"

    They're obviously practicing defense, bravo.

Forget wondering if they're practicing offensive sets, are they even practicing shooting...at all????

Comments like this will come back to haunt the team if we whiff in free agency.

Is that a serious question? Can't tell. In any case, the answer is obviously - no. The only "shooting practice" is when Kuzma challenges Lonzo to a shootout after regular practice... and somehow actually manages to lose?! Mind = blown.

Becoming less and less of a fan of Walton as a coach.

I just want to know his thought processes. He's right about there being a completely lack of help, but isn't part of that his job as a coach to make sure that's happening? And if it's not happening, put somebody in who will execute?

The Sixers moved the ball extremely well and our defensive rotations were slow all night and got slower as guys were either too tired to chase or downtrodden with the result. In the end though, it lead to Julius being put on impossible island in crunch time. Where was Kuzma to help him? Where was any of the wings to break up that double? And then if that double ever did come, the Sixers would just go get the rebound because guys weren't paying attention.

We rightfully need to question Luke for some of his decisions, but I think ultimately our group did not execute well last night. They came in unfocused.

I understand Luke wants to play spreading the ball in the offensive end "the Warriors way", but at some point during crunch time you need to go with the HOT hand.

Kuzma was having his way ALL day in the post. He should be getting the ball every single time down the court in the 4th quarter, just like the way the Sixers ran the ball through Embid. It's so frustrating to watch the Lakers play in the offensive end atm.

I think we have 6-7 players averaging between 10-15 points.

The definition of mediocrity, no player hierarchy, and no go to scorer at the end of games.

I expect most games that are tied with a couple of minutes left to go exactly like last night.

    It’s in unfortunate inevitability.

The players guarding JE looked as if they expected help. The overplay was extreme. It would sure be interesting to watch a few practices and see the real problem. It would show up right away. It would be reassuring to know they were at least practicing the right things.

Good job by Luke to channel the players' desire to improve their defense this game. Last two games it was clear in the post game interviews that they understood they had slipped defensively and that was their biggest issue. Luke hammered it home and last night they all bought in, starters to the bench (KCP with 4 steals, Corey Brewer 4 steals, Lonzo with some great defensive plays), and they determined the pace of the game. They cooled off the red hot Nuggets and that was no accident. Yes it helped that Jokic got tossed early but part of his frustration was us swarming him down low and beating them up defensively. Even if he had continued to play the score might have gotten closer but we had the determination and momentum this game to dominate them, which we did.

Hey guess what, the off season projected front court of Randle and BroLo works, it really works. Good on Luke for figuring it out even if it took him this many games.
