- Rumors of LA - Jimmy Butler was reportedly encouraged not to go there by members on the Cavs right now - LeBron subtweets again - Kyrie leaked that he'll leave too if/when LeBron leaves - Reported that LeBron isn't recruiting to Cavs anymore - Fired GM just days before the biggest time in FA Am I missing any?
With each passing day the LeBron to the Lakers dream is looking far and far less like a dream and more like a reality.
I think it's still a dark horse possibility until we see what the Lakers look like this year. There's an enormous amount of pressure on the kids and frankly Luke Walton, Magic, and Rob to create an enticing environment. If they look like they did last year, LeBron and George are going to look for other options. Right now I'd say the odds are still worse than us getting the #2 pick this summer, but they are definitely inching upward. Hopefully Ball and Ingram show something great this season, starting on Friday.
True, but I have faith they'll be improved in comparison to a year ago. Ingram looked a lot more comfortable and confident in the second half of the season. He should pick up where he left off. Ball, while there is surely due to be an adjustment period as there is for any rookie point guard he has one remarkable skill that few others possess at his age that should be able to translate immediately to pro basketball.
Yes! Give him 2 or 3 years and with his standard opt out in the contract and he can do this to your team too. :Headbang:
Both jobs involve sublimating your self-respect to feed and appease the ego of the King. At least ESPN has relative stability.
Yeah, I just read something about a lowball offer from The Dan lol. He has never renewed the contract of a GM. Why would Chauncey leave a relatively stable career for rebuilding after Dan is on the hook for some terrible contracts to appease the Kang? I wouldn't unless I didn't have other options.
its sad that James had to go back and get that donkey Gilbert his only chip, I know he had to do it for the city but its a shame the team is owned by someone like that, he makes Dolan look good
It's one of the reasons the rumors of LeBron leaving are growing. LeBron has reportedly told people that he really didn't want to win a ring for Gilbert. LeBron hates that guy.
Yup league average for that position is $4mil, initial offer was $1.5mil, final offer was $2mil. If I remember correctly.
$2 mil to be president of that team? To put up with Gilbert and appease LeBron for a season and then take all the heat if LeBron leaves and have to rebuild that team? Wow. Dan Gilbert is a cheap bastard.
When someone has a reported net worth of 45 million, 2 million a season for that headache and a possible Lebron exit? Thanks. I'll sit in the ESPN studios.
