For the right price I'd definitely want Brook back. Every team needs a legitimate 7 footer on their roster. I agree with real that there's no better option out there when considering his projected salary.

eh, what's his projected salary? the fact is he's a 20mpg player at this point. two years ago, he's making 16 per. this summer, it should be half that. he'll sift through MLE offers, and the if the lakers strike out in FA, they'll probably bring him back on that or something a little higher for short years (like 2 with a team option).

if the lakers struck paydirt on one or two stars, i'd hope to convince him to sign a very small one-year deal, then use his bird rights to sign him to more the following year.

anyway, the truth is he's replaceable in FA should someone decide to offer him a lot of cash.

Show me the Center that can hit even 30% of his threes and block as many shots as Brook in FA this season. Okafor? Noel?

If Brook is available for cheap, the Lakers should be all over it. If not, Randle better start shooting a hell of a lot more threes.

lopez is not on a bad team where hes the primary scorer anymore ,id take lou over lopez for their respective role as scoring punch of the bench

I do prefer a more mobile center despite Brook’s skills.

It’s just clear that we’re much better when we’re running and gunning, but I wouldn’t complain if he accepted the MLE.

There's right times for having a Big, strong, skilled center in the game. I'm happy he's on the team.

Brook is for all intents and purposes playing the Zaza role for us and he's vastly overqualified for that role. I prefer a fast mobile Center if we have shooting at least 3 of the other spots on the floor. As it is with Julius not shooting enough, Brook has done a good job.

Honestly if Brook was grabbing 3 more rebounds a game, I wonder if anyone would be complaining.

I'm not arguing the guy is still an All-star but he's not a bum either. To get him for the MLE or the Room Exception would be a wonderful deal.

I'd bring BroLo back for a year or two while we continue developing Zu and TBryant.

Lou is literally in the same position that Brook was in for years being the primary scoring option for a bad team. The difference is Lou is on a better team now than Brook has had in years. If you prefer Lou that's fine, that's your opinion, but there's little argument for that opinion using actual evidence.

lou was coming of the bench most this yr n this is his best yr so far, put lopez on the bench n he'll be no more than a channing frye going foward for us, i am comparing them in terms of both being bench scoring options

They're not bench scoring options and Brook Lopez is 10x the player that Channing Frye is.

If this is where you're going, you've already lost this debate.

that's how lopez will be treated if the 2 max opt happens, he'll be limited to shooting 3s, hes ready progressing towards that route

If he’s willing to take that, you lock him up for as long as possible IMHO

Good stats posted too. It feels like the coaching staff has struggled to put some of our pieces to best use. Feels a bit like Mike Dan Tony. If the skill set isn’t exactly what he wants, he doesn’t have time to play you.

If I could gripe at one thing on Luke, it’s that great coaches can adjust their system and plays to fit the personnel they have. I don’t see that yet, or at least not quickly enough to feel strong about it.

The team playing better as of late brings a lot of hope that there are other reasons why it seems like that. Maybe the kids are finally starting to “get it”. Maybe they are finally executing what they’ve been given, and previous failure to do so affected rotations, etc.

But I’m typing that and I don’t even believe that. But coach is only 37, and has lots of room to grow just like our young players.

Being forced towards that route and he wouldn't be here off the bench. The Lakers would use him to set the tone early inside the same way the Warriors use Pachulia. Lopez, for his faults, will defend the rim well. I've detailed his shot blocking this season, but he also takes hard fouls if/when necessary too.

Lopez plays for 15-20 minutes a game, more if the situation calls for it. Stretches the floor. Makes the right play. Defends the rim. Exactly what he's doing now. He'd be an absolute steal for the Room Exception.

How do you even get 2 boards in 26 minutes as a 7 footer? I could play 26 minutes and have the ball bounce to me twice in an NBA game. I can’t even think of something soft enough to equate Lopez to. Like, marshmallow fluff on a feather on a newborn baby’s bottom lying on a satin pillow.

I thought he played worse against the Pelicans. Missing gimmes around the basket.

For the right price, I would want Lopez back too...

that would be the vet min.

Otherwise I don't see the incentive to pay him in the 10 mio. range instead of playing Zu or Bryant.
