Brook is looking at that 2018 summer like "I might get to stay home and play with LeBron/George? Why would I want out?"

I hope not. That means we couldn't find a taker for Deng with all these picks and we couldn't resign Randle. :D

Interesting. You might think he’d want to ring chase, but being a career Net he’s clearly used to not being in the playoffs so maybe it’s not a big deal. I kinda like that he’d want to stick it out with this group, we do need a vet presence. But long term, no, don’t want him back unless it’s dirt cheap.

Yeah that's my expectation. He'd be a fool to leave the situation and I'm not sure he's going to find significantly more money than 4 million a year. I mean if the Lakers offer him 3/12 million and he gets to be a perennial contender, why wouldn't he want that? I could see him getting some offers in the 3/20-24 range, but to stay home and compete? That sounds awesome.

And for all the hate, he still provides the ability to step out if needed, good rim protection, and versatility if we ever need a guy to take over for a bit down low.

At this very moment, I would choose lopez.

Big picture: if we want LBJ, IT likely can't be here.

Also, no matter how this turns out Brook taking the room exception as unlikely as this might be is a lot more likely than IT taking it given the money he and his agent have talked about wanting to get.

Oh boy you're in trouble with some faction here in La La Land. Vertically Challenged Alliance? Has to be one.

...still has me SMH launching those treys out there. I'll probably never get used to it. Did take Adams off the dribble for a couple of scores when he was rushed at.

What would be the advantage of buying him out?

Like seriously. I don't understand some buyouts at all. He is a useful peace and not a cancer. Whats the motivation of the Lakers to buy him out? there is none unless he accepts less money, which he won't.

Where is this buyout nonsense coming from, Brook is an essential piece in our rotation.

Other teams were really hoping we'd buy him out so they could get him for cheap, but they can just shove it.

I like Brook. I know the majority on this site don't, but Brook brings great size, toughness, and a unique skill set to the team. No he's not a flashy high leaper, but he's been playing well lately

By the way he's now 3 made three pointers away from his shooting percentage from last season.
