I like Lopez. If we get George while only giving up one of Clarkson or Randle, I think Ball, Ingram, George, and Lopez fight for the playoffs.

So you're going back 5 years to judge his availability? Five years ago Deng was an All-Star.

i'm wary of big guys with foot problems. they almost never go away.

moreover, lopez's value is as an expiring more than anything. he could help us win some games next year (which is important, given our lack of a pick), but i wouldn't get too attached. we can hope that he stays healthy in a contract year, though, i guess?

Lopez will be a great fit. Floor spacer on offense with his 3 pt shooting. Randle should love playing with him as Lopez doesn't clog the lane so Randle can attack more open lanes

That can all be true and it can still be true that he's a good fit for the offense and could have a good season here.

    Glass half full.

I could see that at the deadline. I don't think they do it this summer though.

Cmon bud you know thats a terrible comparison. A history of foot issues with a big man is an issue. He's not getting any younger.

I love Brook, and was pining for him before we got Hibbert. I guess we got an All Star local kid who has a great personality. Can't complain about that, like most, however I feel a separation anxiety throwing a 2nd pick just like that for a salary dump.

    *Sigh*

I like Brook too. But damn, just as I was trying to convince myself to be happy about this, you had to bring up the name "Hibbert" lol.

Now I'm worried that any positive thoughts I have about this trade since we got Brook is just the same delusions I had when we got Hibbert :speechless:

But it's not though. He's only 28 years old and in 8 seasons as a pro has played 70 games or more 6 times with 3 of those times being the last 3 years. I don't think he's as much an injury risk as anyone else at this stage in his career. I could be wrong, but I'm certainly not hoping for it. When he's healthy Brook is a good player. I think that gets lost in his flaws.

I am 99% sure more moves are coming. Don't have anything against Lopez, of course; sorry to see Russ go, but I'm sure it had to happen.

Brooks can ball. I like him alot. Mosgov being gone makes me like him even more. Zubac can now continue to develop with less pressure on him.

I am hopeful that some other dominos start to fall, but I think Lopez is definitely here to stay as our starting center for this season.

One positive I can take away from my dislike of this trade is that I think the front office genuinely has a high opinion of Lopez as a basketball player. Like this trade is going to be summarized as a salary dump, but you can't short change Brook THAT much. I feel like we've been linked to him in rumors for a while. He is absolutely not a franchise player but he is very skilled offensively and I think his deficiencies can be masked in today's league.

He's 29. And I think hes a good player as well. Maybe his injuries hurting a couple fantasy teams of mine has made me bias lol
