Are there any contracts that stand out for being particularly terrible or good? I think Vucevic for 100 mio. / 4 years was really cheap given the market. But as usual there are many more terrible contracts... Tobias Harris 180 mio. max contract? He averaged like 18/7...WTF Malcom Brogdon 84 mio? Khris Middleton getting a max contract? Jamal Murray getting 5/170 is pretty much the absolute worst contract so far from what I can tell. Yikes. There should be some criteria for giving out max contracts...everyone these days that is an average NBA player expects a max.
Rozier , Porzingis are among the worst too . Middleton and Harris got way too much but I guess both teams couldn't replace them with cheaper options . Wannabe Curry at 196 ( !!!!!) will be the worst soon though
Murray’s max extension stands out to be honest. I thought considering the market Brogdons was somewhat reasonable.
Mitch can now add Rozier for 3/$58M to his Mozgov-Deng duo of bad signings. $19M a year for Rozier but they cheap out on Kemba??? WTF?
Poor Charlotte.... everything about them stinks...stingy ownership, no talent on the team, locked into long-term contracts... Even with perfect management it takes them like 5 years to clean the deck. Reminds me of the Nets 2015...
Just on PGs so far... THREE Standard Deviations Up - best in class by far if healthy {35.2 average) Kyrie +12 (35.2/yr) - good deal, as people paid as much money for lesser players. TWO Standard Deviation Up - all good, and some of these guys could see max {26m average} Kemba +8 (35.2/yr) Brogdon +8** (21.3/yr) - excellent deal, and he's younger than most of these guys. Collison +4 Russell +3***** (29.3/yr) Rubio +3 (17/yr) ONE Standard Deviation Up - If there's a ring chaser in there, that's a good one-year deal {9.6m average} Beverley +1 (13.3/yr) Wanamaker +1 Rose +0 (7.5/yr) Wright -1* Payton -3***** (8.0/yr) MIDDLE OF PACK {7.2m average} Jones -4***** Rozier -4*** (19.3/yr) - this is a bad contract, but the hope is that he's young enough to play into it. Lin -4 Arcidiacono -5*** McConnell -5* Dozier -6****** Burke -6** Rondo -6 Barea -7 (2.6/yr) Felton -7 Lucas -7 Caupain -8***** Mudiay -8***** Cook -8** Frazier -8 (1.9/yr) Smith -8 (6.0/yr) Grant -9** Randle -9** Stockton -9 ONE SD Down - younger guys might be developmental projects {7.3m average} Joseph -10 (12.3) - this is a bad contract. Thomas -10 (2.3) Evans -12***** Harris -12 Goodwin -12***** Fredette -13 Mitrou-Long -13** Milton -14***** Whitehead -14**** Carter-Williams -14* (?) Mack -14 Calderon -14 Bayless -15 (had miscalculated) TWO SDs Down - yikes Gibson -16 Chealey -18*****
WCS has to be one of the best signings out there. Right? I don't even know the numbers, but the Warriors don't have $, so it's gotta be good. He was 12/8 on 56% shooting, is one of the better passing bigs in the league, and he 14th in DRPM among Centers with 20+ MPG, fifth in D-PIPM among Centers with 2000 minutes played.
To be honest I love all the members Showtime Lakers as long as they stay away from meddling with the team in any official capacity...so do your thing, Mitch! overpay your heart away for mediocre players
Yup, hes a steal at the min. Really wanted him after Kings renounced his rights. I think he could have gotten 8-12 mil during the spending frenzy.
I thought he would get 10m per before the crazy contracts started. Now? Why couldn't we have gotten in on that action? WCS for the mini um would have been huge for us.
I would have given him the room exception without hesitation. Solid defense, good athletic big who can attack the rim. A little wild on offense but I'll take it at 56%. Incredible.
I added in a few more... THREE Standard Deviations Up - best in class by far if healthy {35.2 average) Kyrie +12 (35.2/yr) - good deal, as people paid as much money for lesser players. Lin -4 Arcidiacono -5*** (3m/yr) This seems like a good contract, half the cost of the average in this group, and he's toward the top and younger.
