basically the room exceptions and minimum contract players and 2nd round picks. We will have 3 stars, ring chasers, and minimum level talent. It's a risky approach, and we're all hoping it works out, as potentially we'd have 3 max players all on load management.

    Lebron: Old and High Mileage
AD: If history is any indication
Kawhi: Missed a year, and load managed last year

Rob has his work cut out for him.

For every empty roster spot there is up to 12, there is an incomplete roster charge in the amount of the rookie minimum (~900k).

So for example, if there are 7 players on the roster with guaranteed contracts and their salaries total up to 70m, then there and be a 5 player incomplete roster charge totaling in 4.5m which takes up some of your cap space obviously.

An unsigned 2nd rounder (and that player's rights) gets swapped out with one of these incomplete roster charges. So going back to the example above, the would 7 players totaling 70m in salary, with one unsigned 2nd round rookie with a caphold of 900k and then 4 incomplete roster charges for a total of 3.6m.

Unlike 2nd rounders, 1st round picks carry a higher caphold than the rookie minimum of 900k, so currently our 4th pick counts as 7.1m against our cap space.

This is why you want to trade for/accumulate 2nd rounders, cause they cheap and don't sacrifice much cap space.

Btw I'm not really an expert...more like an enthusiast. So don't take my comments as an absolute certainty...but feel free to @ me anytime.

32.7 is full max for Kyrie, Kawhi, Kemba, Jimmy

But I think we can get to 32.5 by getting rid of Mo, Bonga, and Jones. Close enough

If we had those 3, I'd only play them 60 games each. We'd have at least 2 of the 3 available for all 82 games, which be enough for us to win 50 games and make the playoffs.

So, other than getting rid of Mo, Bo and Jo, is there another way?

Over zero, and under 20. That feels safe.

Larry Coons was on Spectrum...said we can't get to 32.5 with the trade as it is currently known.

If we just traded Wagner, Bonga, Jones (outside of the AD deal), we get to 29.4
If we trade Kuzma (outside of the AD deal) we get to 30.5

Not sure how he gets to those numbers, but he is The cap guru so....

Those three need to be included in the 3 way trade which puts our salary within 125% of AD’s incoming salary which saves us from the 15% penalty.

Uhh how? Cap holds are already set I believe but it looks like he is counting them again once traded. I am not an expert though

But if we are at 27.7M if kicker is waived then it seems like we can get extra 4.8 by letting go off them. Bonga-1.4, Jones-1.4, Wagner-2M

Unless we need a new cap hold for all three, then yes we are at 29.4, but I don't know fully how this should happen. Rob better be sure on this s***

With so many teams having cap space this summer, I wonder if we’d get decent players with the vet minimum.

How much is the room exception?

We’re in a good, but difficult situation.

So, 29.4 million is the number. Can't the Lakers just cover the difference in years 2,3 and 4?

    Here’s your “report”...

    https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...max-cap-room-free-agency-agent-2019-nba-draft

Like I said, once the trade to Hawks was agreed, there was our chance to move in to have them take those three on. Let’s be optimistic here. Rob isn’t dumb.
