LOL at PG. It was a tough shot, not a bad shot. A bad a shot would be relying on PG to make a game winner.
Bad shot? It didn't even have to come to that if not for the bad execution in losing a 15pt lead with under 7 mins to go.
Love watching Dame. He's probably my favorite non Laker. Love the swag, the mentality, and twinkle of mambaness. He's a bad mofo, especially the groove he's in right now.
bad shot? weird contention there. it's clearly the shot he wanted, and he drilled it--not accidentaly banked it in, wade/harden style--drilled it. it was good defense beat by better offense. that was george's frustration--he thought giving up a step-in 35-footer was solid d. and on like, 99.5% of players, it is.
Loser words from a loser - Paul George. Missed free throws, failed to guard Lillard at the end. That's a damn fine shot to win the series. Not a thing wrong with that. I love Dame, the guy is a flat out killer. The wave was perfect too. Bye bye first round exiters.
Still anticipating first time now in his off season that PG decides to mosey on into Dodger Stadium to take in some baseball and a camera picks him up for the outfield LED screen ......
Somewhere Brandon Ingram is smiling 'cos he's not alone having Lillard make a game winning shot on him. Same spot too.
Contrary to some people here, I'm not that salty about PG not coming here and choosing to stay even though I do think PG is a very good player. I'm not salty because I kinda always respect when a player chooses to stay in a place. And I actually praise OKC for taking the risk in a trade and actually managing to convince him during the season. I can give that to both PG and OKC. I also think PG actually did play very good defense on Lillard, and while he's made that kind of shot before, that's pretty much as best as you can do defensively. What I don't like about PGs comment is that feels kinda like sore loser. It's fine to point out you felt you played good D on him, but you have to respect greatness. What Damian Lillard did there is greatness. Great defense is extremely important, but sometimes, no matter how good the defense is, and incredibly good offensive player will manage to guide the ball to the basket. As Lakers fans, we know that better than most after 20 years of Kobe Bryant. Absolutely impressive game by Damian Lillard. I actually wish him a good Playoffs. The Blazers have gone through a ton of injuries through all of Lillard's career and more which I think has really prevented Lillard to have a deep Playoffs run. Sadly, this year is no exception to the rule with Nurkic's injury, but I really hope he goes far this year.
love dame felt nice seeing him bury that GW and send lame a** westbrook and PG home. hope PG is enjoying what he signed up for: first round exits and westbrook choking. but hey, russ got his triple double so he doesn't care
Saw a hint of this on Twitter: 250 players have averaged 20 PPG in a season since the 08/09 season (when Westbrook entered the league). Sorting by worst eFG% in that time, Russ has the 222nd, 225th, 231st, 236th, 246th, and 247th best. Full disclosure: Kobe is 250th (age 36 season). The other other player who appears in that list repeatedly like that is DeMar DeRozan (okay, and Carmelo). This season, Westbrook was at .468, 15 points behind DeRozan, in last place.
Yeah and in reality PG even way out there only missed it by like an inch or less it looked from tipping it. He was there. Just a great shot. Dame is really fun to watch.
Reading through this thread one would think Lillard is an all time great. Lol. He was absolutely owned by Jrue and Rondo last year. H e now had his biggest moment of his career. Good for him. I'm especially thankful he knocked the pathetic Thunder out with a Kobe-esque shot. But he is just a great player, like top 10 or 15 in the NBA, like PG. He is not an MVP guy.
I remember in the preseason I wanted to trade for Lillard more than any other player. It was because of stuff like this. I've said multiple times, he is my favorite non-Laker player.
