Ben Simmons is so unlikable, that he makes me side with Jared Dudley.

    Brooklyn can’t hit a three.

This is unsurprising but still a bummer.

Don’t like Simmons, but he owned the Nets tonight. Dudley probably should have kept his mouth shut, Simmons went on a “I’ll show you what I can do in the halfcourt” crusade and got to the rim at will, 31 points on 11-13 shooting (and 9-11 from the line with the intentional fouling) plus 9 assists. Shame, this was Brooklyn’s game to take with Embiid out. At least they refused to go away until like the last 4 or 5 mins, Russ hit some really crazy hard shots throughout the game, but yeah they couldn’t hit threes at all, Russ himself was 2-9, 8-39 as a team.

I wanna say that experience is winning out but man that Spurs team is made up of some deep finds.

yeah, but did you watch the game? he was barely noticeable, imo. he fed off of irving being unstoppable, which, to his credit, is more than some can do. again, i just don't understand the future superstar narrative there. i think he's limited in some important ways.

i was watching that game, and the announcers kept saying that brooklyn couldn't get good looks. but i was like: they're getting clean looks at threes almost every trip down. they just didn't make a single one. and this is joe harris and dinwiddie shooting, not allen or something. meanwhile, at one point i think tobias harris was 5-5 from deep. just wasn't their night.

i've had my eye on him for a couple years. he was drafted late first after bouncing around a bit in college, iirc. i watched him in sl the year after he was drafted and thought they had a steal. then he had some injury issues i think. they brought him along slowly and didn't trade him for muscala, and now it's paying serious dividends. for all the people going nuts about gilgeous alexander, this guy is like the rich man's version, imo.

I don’t hear anything about Tatum except what people on here say, so I don’t understand the narratives. I didn’t watch. I have watched three games in their almost entirety - the Nets’ playoff games. More time for other fun stuff :)

It’s sad, but I’m content with just highlights. This season has come close to sucking all of the joy out of basketball for me. And Lebron’s my favorite player.

Putting Simmons on Russ was a great move. He was eating up McConnell and others. Russ has to work so much harder to create. He did a good job getting guys looks last game, but they just bricked all their threes.

It will be interesting to see if DAR is at the level that he can make adjustments game to game when teams can game plan for him in a series. That’s probably his next step of growth.

in a nutshell: the fans and media all thought it wise for NO to turn down our godfather offer (which may or may not have actually been made) just to wait on the *chance* that tatum might be offered in the summer. he's simply not good enough to warrant that.

Maybe. I think he’ll get less and they’ll still be able to add a high level FA or a couple solid adds.

Nets shot 35.3% on threes this season, canning 12.8 per game.
    In the playoffs, they're 34-101 (33.7%) (11.3 per game).

They're also shooting 43.8% overall vs. 44.9% on the season.

Russ's points generated by assist are down from 16 to just under 8. I'm making this the central culprit so far. Simmons is guarding him well and making things tough - but Ed Davis has played just 41 minutes in the playoffs (with 16 points and 19 boards) vs. 18 MPG in the regular season. He's dealing with injury. Someone has to start knocking down shots.
